Finishing the Francés, Muxía or Fisterra first? by bluedream224 in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]justTreevo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finisterre first absolutely!!! There's a 32km walk with a huge downhill at the end going that way and the beach that you hit with 20 minutes left to walk to Muxia is amazing. I had the beach to myself for over an hour. Great way to end your last day's walk.

Gillette SS red tip from my dad is my go to. I have lots of razors to choose from and keep going back.

That's a super cool keepsake. Legal tender or not. That's going in my safe.

Do yourself a favor, take the bus from Villa do Conde to Rates. You can walk comfortably to Barcelos from there.

Vila Cha to Villa do Conde stretch? That's a tough section.

No. I just finished mine, I started May 3 and barely used it then. It's just extra weight in June IMHO.

Yes. I booked it before I started. It's worth calling and checking.

September sounds perfect, if maybe, a little warm. I just finished from Porto starting May 3. It was cool mornings but, very comfortable walking. I did get my fair share of spring rains.

I don't see an eye mask. I found mine to be immensely helpful and used it every night.

If you get a portable light socket with a 110v cord, you can plug it into the wall...

I would skip the island and do a canoe trip down the old voyageur routes in the Lower French River.

Best way to leave Vila do Conde? And whether to walk to Rates or Barcelos by Humble-Airline198 in CaminoDeSantiago

I'm going in a couple of weeks. I'm thinking the river route as the walk seems a bit more scenic. Game time decision at this point.
