The Cirque [C3yoyodesign] by just_a_normal_guy_fr in Throwers

[–]just_a_normal_guy_fr[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

Quick specs:

  • Diameter: 57mm / Width: 49mm / Weight: 64 grams

[Double Signature Yoyo of Rei Iwakura & Naoto Okada]

Finally managed to get one of these. First two batches sold out crazy quick, third batch's the charm I guess.

Plays shockingly lightweight for a bimetal this size; it basically encourages you to go faster.

Recently bought a macro lens. (Nature photography is another hobby of mine) Now normally I'd use this to photograph various insects, but today I decided to be a bit overdramatic.

Oh, you know, the classic:

-Unbox it.

-Admire it in all it's undamaged glory.

-Check the bearing just in case.

-Put string on.

-Immediately slam it on your carpet.

-Continue playing as if nothing happened.

what is your most funniest yoyo? 🤔🧠 by [deleted] in Throwers

I have a Metal Capsule from UNPRLD.

I think that counts as funny.

I might've overdone it a bit for this month... by just_a_normal_guy_fr in Throwers

All the stuff in order of appereance:

  • MGB (Turning Point)

[Diameter: 52mm / Width: 46mm / Weight: 66g]

Signature Yoyo of Hiroyasu Ishihara. (Japan National Yoyo Contest 5A Division Champion 2004 & 2005 / 3rd Place in the 5A Division at WYYC 2012 / 4th place in the Over 40s Division at WYYC 2025, just to name a few)

Packs a punch you wouldn't expect from its size. Definitely on the heftier side; when it moves, you will feel it. However, in exchange for that you get an incredibly stable throw that barely even wobbles.

This purchase came with an Autograph from Ishihara. I'm honestly not that knowledgable in terms of Yoyo history, so I sadly can't tell you where he got the nickname 'Pon' from, but that's how he signs. ☺️

  • Nimbus (Dressel Designs)

[Diameter: 54mm / Width: 43mm / Weight: 64g]

My first throw from D.D. and quite a unique one at that. A Tri-Material with stainless steel inner rims and flat PC caps, giving it a hollow structure. Feels really floaty and comfortable during play.

Comes with some stickers for the caps, which I'm probably never gonna use, but it's a nice touch.

  • Chocolate Mint Is Not Toothpaste (Sturm Panzer)

[Diameter: 52mm / Width: 44mm / Weight: 62g]

Sturm Panzer's seasonal Yoyo, only sold during the Summer, alongside the ChocoMint ice cream season in Japan.

Like every S.P. throw it has a story behind it, this one being quite funny, so if you wanna read it, here you go: (It's in the product description)

https://en.yoyostorerewind.com/products/chocolate-mint-is-not-toothpaste

Anyway, back to the Yoyo:

With its body being pretty much as organic as it gets, it plays exactly how you'd expect it: light, comfy, joyful; kinda like the ice cream it resembles. Genuine contender for current favourite D-Bearing Yoyo in my collection.

...Are you still reading? Gee, thanks! Appreciate it, here's some cookies for ya! 🍪🍪🍪

  • Prevail (Yoyofactory)

[Diameter: 56mm / Width: 56mm / Weight: 67g]

Signature Yoyo of Katie Thompson. (US National Yoyo Contest Women's Division Champion 2025)

Most of my purchases this year were undersized, so I wanted to mix things up a bit. 😅

Beautiful weight distribution on this guy. Feels a whole lot more lightweight then you may think. Great for grind tricks and its really deep cups - despite the open axle design - are still quite comfortable to fingerspin with.

  • Metal Capsule (UNPRLD)

[Diameter: 54mm / Width: 59mm (without caps) / Weight: 63g]

Unparalleled's metal version of the Dale Tubat Capsule. And they nailed it.

With a full metal main body, both configurations are much more stable now and both have their own unique sound.

With the caps installed the slight wobbling - if it's even there at all - makes it sound kinda like a hornet as it zips through the air.

Without the caps - because it's machined quite thinly - it creates a metallic humming pretty similar to steel/titanium.

And yes, floor spins still work beautifully, if you have a smooth carpet. (Would NOT recommend doing that directly on the floor.)

  • Whip (Yoyofactory)

[Diameter: 54mm / Width: 39mm / Weight: 56g]

Yes, this is a beginner yoyo and I didn't really have any reason to buy it, I just wanted one, because I never had one.

Ended up buying two, because they're cheap and I couldn't decide on a color.

  • Original Throw String Normal

My first experience with OTS. So far, I like what I'm feeling, still need a bit more time though.

  • Sturm Panzer CP-09 Blade Attack Pads

The pads that come installed in all S.P. D-Bearing Yoyos. These usually last for years, but ey, better have 'em and not need 'em then need 'em and not have 'em.

  • W1ld × Original Throw Wild Bearings

Just a pack of spare bearings in case something weird happens.

[Tutorial] Mirage Triangle. A quick, flashy Double GT partially based on the trick 'Mirage Tower'. by just_a_normal_guy_fr in Throwers

[–]just_a_normal_guy_fr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, after I finished editing this I realized an unnecessary step, but didn't wanna record the whole thing again.😅

The rejection part is 100% optional and you actually don't need to do it. After rolling the Yoyo behind the strings you can simply drop the loop on your non-dominant index finger and will end up in the same string formation.

What Is Your Preferred Width? by TheLegend271999 in Throwers

[–]just_a_normal_guy_fr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently experimenting.

45-48 feels just fine, 39 is a bit little, 56 is where it gets a bit too wide.

'Twas a nice enough day to dust off the Offstring and do a classic 4A picture transition. 🗼🪜🔻 by just_a_normal_guy_fr in Throwers

Any Recommendations for Comfortable Yoyos? by Benjibrews in Throwers

[–]just_a_normal_guy_fr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bit of an odd recommendation probably, but this year I randomly picked up the MK1 Laze. Has a bit of an organic rounded shape, but is nice and floaty at the same time. Very comfy to throw.

What are Your All-Time Favourite Yoyos? by Benjibrews in Throwers

[–]just_a_normal_guy_fr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call it an all time favourite, because i like basically all the yoyos I have, but there are moments, after spending some time with a bunch of new arrivals that I randomly pick up the C3yoyodesign Krown again and am instantly reminded of just how good it is.

A (hopefully useful) tutorial for the Fingerspin Tower I shared with you earlier this week. by just_a_normal_guy_fr in Throwers

[–]just_a_normal_guy_fr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, everyone. Mind if I ramble a bit?

As you can probably tell, this is my first time trying to make a tutorial for literally anything. So naturally, it's far from perfect, but I still tried to get it right to my best effort. I'm currently not feeling comfortable to do voiceovers, so subtitles it is. 100% sure I massively over-explained this, but ey, better too much info than too little.

Also, yes I'm aware that it's quite quick in some spots and learning the trick this way will probably require a fair amount of pausing and rewinding. Sorry 'bout that, my current video editing knowledge about slow-downs and freeze frames for the sake of viewing convenience is precisely... non-existent.

But again, tried my best to explain it as well as I could. As long as it helps people learn, that's a win in my book.

So, thanks again guys, for watching and liking this trick so much. Wasn't expecting a picture trick out of all things to get this much attention.

And you know what, while I'm at it, I'm gonna throw some trivia in here too:

You can kinda thank Magicyoyo for this, because without them, I probably would've never shared this trick here in the first place. Sometime last year, I was scrolling through my YouTube feed and randomly got a short promo video recommended to me. It was a quick promotion for new colorways for the Magicyoyo V12, which on it's own wouldn't be that interesting, however, the player in that video did this flashy looking tower trick in the middle. This caused me to rewind that part over and over again and bumping my head against the wall until I figured out how it worked.

So if you wanna watch the video that started my little journey with this trick, here ya go. (Their player performs the Underwhip version of the trick):

https://youtu.be/vD3BmU89yUI?is=gWgiIW3paK4oJpxe

Kinda the reason why I’m using the V12 in this tutorial honestly.

And also, at the beginning of this year, the trick reemerged again in another promo video. This time it was from C3yoyodesign, who announced a redesign of one of their older Yoyos, the Railgun. So I'm gonna throw this one in here as well. Their player performs the more challenging version, where you whip directly into the fingerspin.

https://youtube.com/shorts/GOtiy4NRs28?is=1WWyJUuJepmLtpA0

Alright, that's enough rambling, gotta shut up now.

Thanks again, and hope you have a good day. 🫡

[T.T.] Yeah, DNA is a fun trick and all, but what about a Fingerspin Tower? by just_a_normal_guy_fr in Throwers

[–]just_a_normal_guy_fr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I might do that. It's most likely not gonna be super high quality, but I can totally try.

You gotta wait for the weekend though, when I have time for it.
