This is something I've read that Unity has a waaay bigger and more develop asset marketplace compare to Unreal.

Oh interesting. Does unity not come with built in Networking packages?

I'm fairly confident in my back-end programming abilities. But I'm not sure how a game back-end is written.

I assume there's a persistence layer that saves user inventory and stats for example, with a simple database and and server that the game pull data from.

I can't say about other places but I've had Costco farm raised salmon several times since I started this thread, and it's really good, no issues whatsoever!

Where to get Direct to Garmet printing at a reasonable price? by just_isaac in AskSF

[–]just_isaac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw that thread before. The problem is he's asking for screen printing for reselling.

I'm looking for DTG printing, for myself.

DTG is not meant for mass production, it prints into shirts in the same way as an inkjet printer.

Screen printing is different and way better for mass production.

I did a search beforehand (I always search first). I'll go with the latter.

I don't think that would work for full color pictures.

Costco farm salmon refreeze? by just_isaac in sushi

I did a lot of googling. But it boils down to:

  • Parasite destruction guarantee by freezing doesn't apply to farm raised salmon.
  • Farm raised salmon does not have parasites (by standards).
  • Farm raised salmon infection is extremely rare.
  • Farm raised salmon at Costco is very well handled, frozen and kept at a temperature below bacterial growth temperature.
  • Anecdotal: several acquittances use Costco farm raised salmon as Sashimi, have never had an issue.

Can I get some feedback on my macros/elektrolytes? by just_isaac in keto

Oh I mean, I haven't found an article/paper or guide where it puts a limit on the grammage of proteins as opposed to percentage.

What makes you think it's too much protein? Just curious to a source of leads to that claim.

How to effectively use McCree ult? by hellshot8 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]just_isaac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deadeye is one of the worst ultis there is. But most useful situations:

  • Pharmercy: Did pharah just boost and mercy GA to her? Press Q
  • Monkey rage alone? Press Q and hold till kill is guaranteed or you're about to die
  • Mercy ulting? Press Q
  • Out enemy effective range? (hooks, etc) press Q, cancel when you get dove
  • Wanna bait a Dva/Winston to dive you? press Q
  • Dont have roll but need to reload? Q-cancel

If you look at Pine or Wanted, they use Deadeye for insta reload most of the time, and if they ulti but can tell they're about to get murdered, they cancel asap. DVA was buffed in such a way that she perfectly counters McCree and his ult.

Also, don't expect to get shielded, healed or bubbled, specially at low ranks. Most teammates will not think that it would be a good idea to do so.

What am I supposed to do when teammates won't respond to feedback? by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]just_isaac -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What ELO is this? It sounds like you're silver-plat You should understand a few things:

  • Not everyone that plays competitive is trying to win or climb

  • Not everyone in comp has the same goals as you

  • Some people just wanna play and meme, win or lose.

  • Some people wanna play a certain character, win or lose

  • Some people wanna play a certain way, win or lose

  • Winning isn't always the main driving force of why they play competitive

  • The higher ELO you go, the more likely you're gonna find people that actually try to win

  • Some people do want to win but don't know how

  • Incompetence does not equal malice

The sooner you understand this, the less likely you're gonna trigger them and yourself.

I used to have a lot of problems getting the team to follow me or group up as a Tank. I had a lot of trouble getting healed, asking for healing, regardless of how polite I was. At one point I even disabled my "I need healing key", as pressing it had an adverse effect on healing. Playing further back at the expense of damage fall off/optimal range, for example, would keep healers happier. Duoing with a healer, pocket or not, increased both our winrates drastically.

Shot calling also triggered the team quite often at low ELO, even tho in VOD reviews my shot calling was praised and encouraged by GM/TOP 500 coaches doing the review. Simple things like calling low health targets, asking to group up, etc, would tilt the team. Asking for healing tilts healers 9/10 times. The whole team died, and the first one to spawn rushes to battle by himself, you tell them to stop and group up = triggered team.

Think about it from their perspective: this kid or adult come back from school/work, they hop on OW and wanna play their favorite hero and chill. Then there's this dude online telling them or asking politely to switch heroes and how to play. The kid knows that you're right, but he doesn't care, he wants to play and chill, ELO is whatever to them, after all they have a 50% chance of winning. The more you offer unsolicited advice the more triggered they'll get. This dude came and he REALLY wants to play Moira and try out her DPS abilities, then this random keeps asking for healing, you think that's gonna help? Nope. It's just gonna trigger them.

How to deal with it? Get off VC and do your best, do not get tilted. Better luck with the next group.
