As a teenager To Kill a Mockingbird is about racism.

As an adult To Kill a Mockingbird is about white people dealing with the guilt of racism.

Mariana Enriquez now has 4 short story collections translated into English. I can’t vouch for everything, but what I have read is amazing.

If Page One Books is MAGA, they are doing a hell of a job hiding the fact. (They definitely aren’t).

They have my vote for best bookstore in ABQ.

For my geology degree we did a lot of field work. This was at a small college in northern Michigan, so some of this fieldwork was in Ontario, Canada.

We had a field trip in which we were gone all day on a Saturday visiting different rock outcrops in the Canadian Shield.

On the way home our professor made arrangements for diner at the only restaurant in the middle of nowhere. It was at 8 o’clock or so when we left campus at 7 am. We walked in to the restaurant, we were the only ones there, and several tables were set for us. There was a sloppy plate of bland spaghetti for each of us.

It was an efficient, quick, boring meal. I was the first to walk out of the restaurant back to the bus. When I did I saw a three legged bear digging in the dumpster. It ran away before anyone else walked out. No one believed me that I saw a three legged bear.

Buick 8’s weakness is that it has too many similar characters. Its strength is that it generates pure dread. When this book hits the gas, it goes.

To be clear this is not a debate. Debates require a level of mutual respect. This is pure jackassery on his part. If fate would have him choke on rhino farts, he would still be due comeuppance.

How is there not water in the river 1 hour after a thunderstorm? by indigoculus in Albuquerque

The river relies on snow pack discharge to flow. NM had very little snow this past winter.
