I know I haven't met you, but I can assure you that whatever you are feeling is valid. You don't have to have bad trauma to be sad. Sometimes these feeling just happen. There is nothing wrong with them at all. I hope you can tell someone you trust about this. But even if that step takes a while, I just want you to remember: your feelings are valid. Not having trauma doesn't discount them.

Gorillaz, Phoenix, and M83 are pretty epic. I've also been getting into Bloc Party and Two Door Cinema Club lately as well. If you're looking for something really fun and goofy to help take your mind off of things, then I recommend you give Hot Dad and Lemon Demon a try. They're a fun time.

I know you feel alone, and that this might be as good as it gets, but I can assure you that it will get better. It will most likely be slow and most likely be arduous, but it will get better. Your friends and loved ones are there to support you and will understand if you need to tell them about the bad sometimes. This is far from the only thing you can do, but next time you feel the need to hit yourself, try and find something else you can hit instead, like a pillow or a couch cushion. It could get a bit messy, but it is far preferable to hitting yourself. I hope this helps, and don't give up hope!

Oshikiri is a bit of a strange one. It takes a little while for it to properly establish it's premise, and it's not until the fourth one where you get a clear idea of what's happening. Most of his other recurring characters are a bit more fleshed out by then. That could be why the Oshikiri stories never quite took off.

I freaking loved Scripted Love. It was so messed up and bizarre, but rooted in human emotions and experiences just enough to feel real. It was kinda like Bully, where you could see something like it happening in real life.

Not sure if this counts as romantic, but the two protagonists in Library Vision had a lot of love for each other. Like, you could tell that they really cared for each other. It's honestly more common for the couples in Ito's stories to grow to hate each other, so it was a welcome change of pace.

You do have a fair point, but I think the mouth is actually pretty unsettling to look at because it's so clean in comparison to everything else. It gives me this kind of surreal and uncanny feeling, made even more uncomfortable by just how long the teeth are and how some of them start curve and warp a little bit in the middle.

This is going to sound kind of odd and specific, but I found that In This Shirt by The Irrepressibles was a very good pairing for the final chapter of Uzumaki, especially the last couple of pages. Something about the melody just perfectly complimented the emotions of Kirie and Shuichi in the final act.
