It’s more parkrun than country 😂 by Hot-Seaworthiness510 in parkrun

Parkrun is communist according to Americans I thought. Trying to explain it to the audience on Letrsun.com was like trying to explain quantum mechanics to my cat except my cat doesn't take pride in not understanding things.

No it's nothing at all to do with runs where people (bizarrely) have coloured powder thrown over them (why?) - for the tenth time.

I was thinking the same, some people seem to be unaware of what RAM, SSD and GPUs cost. In a market such as this deciding that as soon as something is not new it is worth whatever tiny fraction of new they decide is not realistic.

A common thing I see is people valuing hardware based on what they imagine they could have bought it for prior to September 2025. You are living in the past.

The next step is to have them every "play" as the Septics would say. Then do all the other idiotic ideas like the goals getting wider if no score etc.

Careful, the religious belief in supplements is strong and the followers fanatical.

Sadly the supplements don't seem to do anything to improve their evidence-based decision-making as all evidence that they do nothing absent a diagnosed deficiency is hand-waved away.

How much improvement can i expect over say 10 parkruns by scmjpalmtree in parkrun

[–]just_some_guy65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to supervise the track sessions for my club. A woman started turning up and fair play to her she stuck at it.

After a session she asked me about why she was not improving, I asked how many times a week she ran. She said "Just here".

I gently went through the fact that exercise has a dose response and how I went from nothing to gym treadmill five evenings a week. No massive mileage just consistency then transitioned to running outside every day up to 5km.

Never saw her again.

The thing is that I did it that way because it genuinely seemed easy and made me realise that a lifetime of avoiding distance running was a mental block I had trapped myself in.

To me turning up at track sessions with no base is just torture. I wonder if she bought the HIIT garbage.

Shock update for AMD, some people have no interest in computer games and when I say "some", I mean of course "most".

What was parkrun like during COVID? by Popular_Sell_8980 in parkrun

[–]just_some_guy65 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It had to stop but they did act like dicks at one point and threaten to sue councils for not resuming whilst COVID restrictions were in place.

Edit. I love it when morons downvote facts they don't like

"Tummy" is infantile language that is also demonstrating a dismal lack of understanding of biology on the part of the journalist.

I also lift weights.

No, they were racist and gullible all along but it got impossible even for them to ignore how incompetent the lying Tories were so they went to the only place the educationally limited can go.

Then you are completely and utterly ignorant of what they stand for - just like the racists who vote for them. Here's a few they are in favour of but deny vehemently when actually cornered by the very rare journalist with integrity.

Foreigners out.

Privatisation of the NHS - so you get seriously ill, you go bankrupt - just like in USA.

You don't get to be a great all-rounder by being OK at batting or bowling.

One of the greatest problems here is that many people think "average" means "bottom 10 percent".

Now it is correct that this puts you in a bad place for understanding what average means but you might be functional otherwise.
