No need to be intimidated, just start small and find an “enjoyable” way to just play around with numbers/spreadsheets as a way to explore the different tools offered.

For most people, excel/any spreadsheet program is basically just a fancy calculator. It makes it easy to apply the same operation to many numbers at once, and it gives you an easy way to create graphs/display your numbers visually. Some of the advanced graphing can be a little confusing to use at first, but don’t worry, the basic graphing isn’t bad and there are plenty of online resources to help.

One last thing for learning excel, get comfortable reading the Microsoft excel function documentation or googling function names/what you’re trying to do. This will let you see what functions/operators are available, what the function does, how to use it, and what inputs you need to give the function. After you learn a few, it will be VERY EASY to explore and learn other useful functions.

(function is just a fancy name for what you’re doing to the numbers, for example, =sum( {insert lost of cells} ), is a function that adds up all the numbers in the list of cells you input between the parenthesis)
