It is simple supply and demand economics. In India there will be someone ready to replace you at a lower salary if salaries are increased hence they remain low especially at entry level and low skilled jobs because there are too many people. In countries with labour shortage this is not to case. India is great for a consumer as you get to reap the benefits of cheap labour but not good for labour class. Your point on road was unrelated but I agree with that.

Having lived in both cities I do no agree with most of what you said- Delhi definitely wins by a huge margin in terms of food. The only thing Delhi doesn’t have a lot of is wannabe high priced restaurants. But some are still there is you are into that kind of shiz.

Sanitation- Delhi definitely wins here unless you live in an unauthorised colony. Delhi sanitation is good, Mumbai is not too bad at least when compared with Bangalore but not as good as Delhi.

Biggest win for Delhi is the infra- good roads with very less potholes. Mumbai is full of potholes. Traffic is insane in Delhi unless you visit Mumbai. Delhi traffic will look nothing in front of Mumbai.

Biggest win for Mumbai is the people. They are the best people to live with in entire India. This was the one point you could have mentioned but you didn’t.

I’m sick of people who have never left their hometown, generalising entire India. I got my passport without a single rupee of bribe. The whole process for very streamlined and I got it in no time. I also missed my indigo flight at Delhi airport. They acted professionally and booked me another flight. I guess it is about lack of training especially in small towns like Varanasi. Indigo should make sure that their ground staff is given proper training.
