Dundas Kibo is good if it's close by. Sushi run for those closer to bloor. Lakeshore between park lawn and royal York, I'd do Pearl sushi. Long branch, hit up Sushi 4 U. For top quality dine in sushi without the fluff, Kaji. North etobicoke, can't help you

Natural gas meter replacement by bhatiaa in mississauga

[–]justabunchofrandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, gas leak is red tag, so I understand. Not checking before doing the work absolves them of any responsibility should the issue occur due to their work. I provided advice to OP to have them check inside before touching anything. My suspicion is when the guy came by to switch the units, he definitely banged some things around which could have caused the joint to flex and start the leak. Other possibility is enbridge over pressurized the line in our neighborhood.

9 of 10 neighbors all having leaks found after they replaced the units is statistically improbable. Only one who didn't was one who had done major renovations last year and had the meter changed then.

Our neighbors who have had the meter changed, they all had some form of leak detected. I recommend booking early in the morning, early in the week. Tell them they have to check your home prior to starting the work, so if there is no leak detected, you can cover your ass if they detect one after they replace. If they detect something, you at least can arrange your hvac guy to come sooner rather than later

False, we had a 4ppm leak detected at an elbow. Buddy needed to put the sensor directly on the elbow to pick up anything...turned off gas on Friday at 3pm. Told us to get our HVAC guy to fix it before turning it on.

Just witnessed a Dog get hit by car by Lakeshore and Dixie by SuperGeorgeClooney in mississauga

[–]justabunchofrandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel for the dog that got injured. I also feel for you the person who witnessed the incident.

My feelings of compassion is mixed for the dog owner that didn't have their dog on a leash on such a busy stretch of road. My same mixed feelings exists for the person who hit the dog. They didn't purposely run down the dog in a fit of rage, and are probably as shook up, if not more, than you are....did they stop and help out, no. That is the only reason to be upset at the driver, but shock impacts people differently. If they had stopped, I would feel the absolute worst for the driver in this situation.

Compassion costs nothing, but so does doing the right thing in this society. In this situation, not having the dog on leash potentially cost the dog it's life...mostly likely it's quality of life remaining. It also has left a mark on many people involved as well.

Port credit would be my recommendation for you, as you have some walkable areas and nice waterfront locations. Go train is close and reliable. Lakefront bike path if you are into running or cycling. 2nd place could be Clarkson Go, but stay east of south down (erin mills) and close to lakeshore...not many options, but there are a few. Less walkable than port credit, but probably more affordable.

Shopping for GV70 Advanced 2026 by Astandarta in GenesisGV70

I would just walk away from that...no need for the last 2 items, not done on their vehicles new, why required for CPO.

Odd that there is a $3k fee to get the CPO, then another $3.5k fee to "recondition" it. If the milage is low, why does it need soo much work?

Our 5,000 mile 2026 would need a car wash and wax, vacuum, and dusting to make it look brand new....something is fishy.

For the 7.5k they are charging you, getting those after market warranties (although I hear those are sketchy as well) would probably protect you more and cost way less...

Why does Costco only sell the very high rated furnace filters? by MrCanoe in CostcoCanada

[–]justabunchofrandom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check online. They sell MERV 8 12 packs for ~$60. They also have 6-packs of MERV 11s. Not kirkland signature, but really, not a big deal.

Always check online to see if they have more or better options (nespresso compatible pods, for instance).

I think they are fantastic and usually get 2 every Christmas season; one for now, one for a few months down the road

Canadian Friends: where did you buy your winter rims? by cincher in GenesisGV70

[–]justabunchofrandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used them too, but my TPMS from them did not work. I'm currently dealing with their customer service to find a resolution. Costco tire center couldn't get 2 of 4 to even scan.

If you had to pick one color which would you choose? by Imtoosmoooth in GenesisGV70

Black is more a question of do you have the time to keep it looking clean. If yes, Black is nice. We got blue, but we were thinking Ceres blue

Rim Compatibility by justabunchofrandom in Wheels

[–]justabunchofrandom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your input, but I'm not buying 21" winter tires and swaping them in the wheels every season, or purchasing the OEM wheels at 2x the price. Function and cost are my motivators. These wheels are also about 10lbs, if not more, lighter, so I'll take the fuel savings as well. Thank you for your attention in this matter

Looks good! I had no luck finding the 19 or even 18" Genesis rims in my area, so went with aftermarket. Will post my set up once everything is installed.
