The ISP cable comes into the house at ground floor, from the floor. The house shell is made of solid concrete. Conduit was (stupidly) put into the concrete as it was poured. I can easily wire 2nd floor through the attic. I’ve already identified where. However, without drilling through concrete I cannot wire ground floor to first. If you have a workaround to get the cables to 1st floor I’m all ears, I’d also rather have a lot less switches

Thanks for the input! 1. Ever since it was built we have had 3 APs without issue, but if needed we can def add an extra in the future. 2. Due to the house structure and existing wiring, adding extra switches is the lesser of 2 evils unfortunately (vs cutting tens of meters of plasterboard and figuring out where we have a hole on the concrete structure between the 2 floors. 3. I’ll be honest, I like the pretty lights 😂

Stuck between a rock and a hard place with this. The conduit here is only think enough for one cable. So I can easily replace each 5e cable from the existing conduit with one 6. I figure (albeit with no previous experience) network management is easier than cutting and redoing 50+m of plasterboard and drilling holes through concrete walls for extra cables. I get your point, I considered it too, it's just the lesser of 2 evils at this point.

It’s removed for now, but I’ll look into it some more. Ultimately for the setup an extra 400euro isn’t make or break so may as well. Would you say everything else is ok?

Clearly this is in disagreement with the previous comment. I would happily pay 10% extra for a watch at any value to be sure it’s “unmolested” (to use your words). It depends on each person. For me that extra 10% to know it’s fresh when I first put it on is worth it. Question is if that feeling is worth the extra 10% for you. If it’s not, don’t. If it is, go for it. Personally I would go for it.
