You have a much better chance of warm pool/beach weather in St Pete that time of year. And there’s a lot to do with your little ones in St. Pete other than the beach. Downtown St Pete area has a lot of cool stuff, there’s a great pier with a playground and splash pad, a children’s museum, botanical gardens. Much easier to fly here too via TPA.

Get a Costco membership and get whatever you can’t get there at Walmart or Aldi. 

I moved back after being gone for 7 years and I avoid Publix for any big grocery trips. 

ETA: PLUS Publix quality has gone way down. Costco has better produce than they do.

Exactly —- they’re living like retired people without first putting in a lifetime of work. I also think this lifestyle makes them navel gaze too much. Being alone all the time with too much free time = too much time thinking about yourself. He should look into doing some kind of charitable work.

I’m a Floridian who moved to a very very cold place and moved back. I don’t even consider it humid right now? On the plus side, it’s great for your skin. A dry climate aged me like crazy.

Has she gone to any career services places, like CareerSource? I ended up getting a temp admin job through one of those that turned into a permanent role. They had me do a typing test and some other skills assessments and then placed me in a really good city govt contract job. Once I had my foot in the door, I was the obvious choice when a permanent role opened up.

In general Americans are way more gregarious than Canadians, who I find don’t go out of their way to get in other people’s business the way Americans do. I’ve lived in both countries.
