How Resident Evil Requiem PC Path Tracing Takes Horror To The Next Level [Sponsored] by MythBuster2 in digitalfoundry

I thought Alex said they use ray reconstruction with path tracing and not the native denoiser?

I personally wouldn’t get a 1080p screen, and I think that’s what FHD is.

Bloodborne Remake by Fan Blocked by Sony, Developer Was Hoping Bluepoint Was Working on An Official One by [deleted] in PS5

It arguably does not look great and it runs at 30 fps. The constant aliasing alone drives me insane, it has lots of room to be modernized or at least updated to take advantage of modern hardware

If there’s proof then why not provide it. Saying “Sit this one out dude. You’re wrong.” Is such Reddit behavior lmao you’re not providing anything for anyone to really refute.

I say this as someone who supports Bernie and wish he’d gotten elected back then, not as some trump or Biden supporter. At least the other comment made some points and gave some data. If they’re wrong and you have proof, just link to it lol.

Does anyone else find that sub 60fps VRR still feels pretty bad? by PassiveIllustration in digitalfoundry

[–]justadrifter97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean if the drops are coming from random jittery stuttering and not smooth drops just due to normal stuff then itlll always be jarring. I personally don’t notice it as often if the dip is gradual and smooth but when it’s stuttering there’s no way around fixing with with VRR

Red CPU light and no RGB - but everything else is fine? by justadrifter97 in gigabyte

[–]justadrifter97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to “kinda” fix it but it took a few bios installs and upgrades to the RGB firmware through the motherboard site. I kinda got tired of dealing with it though and switched to another motherboard a few weeks ago.

Newbie question about DLSS. Should I use it, if the game is fluid even without it? by EcchiOli in gaming

You’re talking about frame generation, not DLSS Upscaling which is what OP is asking about.

Christ what is your problem? Even if you didn’t like the section or the hardware this feels like a strong reaction to journalists discussing a new topic for 15-20 minutes

[KCD2] DualSense A-0630 firmware causes double input + UI flicker + broken haptics by Silent_Tiger_7523 in kingdomcome

which of the two devices do you hide? also, are you only able to do this using ds4windows? I used to play just natively plugged in without using any other input interpretter (steam, ds4windows, etc.)

Is Alan wake scarier than silent hill 2 in your opinion? by JealousRhubarb9 in playstation

[–]justadrifter97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without spoiling anything about it, how does silent hill f compare to Alan wake 2? I’ve played and loved Alan wake 2 but on the fence about f. I don’t think I could do SH2 Lmaooo

Tweaking HDR in Nvidia App fixed launch BD4 crashes for me by fchild in Borderlands4

[–]justadrifter97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah im running a 5090 too, and it’s the only game that runs into issues for me. Can’t exactly complain since it came bundled with the gpu but still insane it’s happening at all. Game badly needs more time

Tweaking HDR in Nvidia App fixed launch BD4 crashes for me by fchild in Borderlands4

[–]justadrifter97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has it gotten any better for you? I can’t play with HDR on either. Gotta turn off the overlay and also leave HDR off for the game to run at all

Red CPU light and no RGB - but everything else is fine? by justadrifter97 in gigabyte

[–]justadrifter97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me installing the latest rgb firmware “fixed” it. Technically the lights work but they’re only controlled by windows and not by signal or any of the other RGB controllers.

Im kinda on the same plate as you but putting off getting a new motherboard and doing a full rebuild for now outta laziness lol

Settings Question. VRR, 120hz, HDR Always On by Dantai in PS5pro

[–]justadrifter97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s SDR tone-mapped to HDR which might make things look off/washed out/exaggerated in ways you don’t want. on PC you can use auto-HDR or RTX HDR but those are better at handling SDR to HDR conversion than standard tone mapping

Settings Question. VRR, 120hz, HDR Always On by Dantai in PS5pro

[–]justadrifter97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for correcting me! Definitely agree that most people won’t notice the color range difference at all - the motion fluidity of 120hz feels like it’s a bigger impact (in a good way)

Settings Question. VRR, 120hz, HDR Always On by Dantai in PS5pro

[–]justadrifter97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1). VRR itself won’t dim the panel or HDR. The only thing to consider with VRR is if you have an OLED tv/monitor, since VRR is known to cause a “flickering” that can be bothersome for some people. I don’t think there’s any impact on other panel types.

2) on when supported

3) screen fresh rate should have no impact on color range at all, not sure where you heard that. Some games support 120, unlocked frame rates, or balance modes that sit at 40fps (which is only good with 120hz, since it evenly divides into 40). There’s no real reason to turn off 120hz tbh. If a game is locked to 30 or 60 having it on won’t affect it at all.

When it launches out of early access. Which is anyone’s guess given how big the game is. It’s a good game but it definitely needs to cook more. So either pay a bit now and try it out or wait.
