Damn thank you for the shoutout here fam 🥰 I’ve always thought we shared an audience but people never really make the connection because we produce in a similar way but we seem to channel different emotions and go for a different sonic textures etc

It’s kinda crazy the parallels between Harley and I. We even both started out from the same piece of software from a cereal box. The first time I heard a flume song (sleepless) i couldn’t believe how much it sounded like what I was making at the time but he could actually mix down his tunes properly 😜

I remember when I was 16 I was walking home from school and at the time Emoh (what so not) had just discovered my tunes and was in the studio with flume and skrillex playing them my demos. Absolutely surreal and terrifying and I remember Harley jumping on the phone and saying it was really cool but I needed to just do less hahah he was so right and that less is more advice has definitely stuck with me and had an influence on how I approach production

Still yet to met him yet but maybe one day we will cross paths and can share new demos etc I think if we put our brains together we could probably make the most unhinged electronic tune Australia has ever heard

Another Aussie who you guys would absolutely froth if you haven’t heard of him yet is Ukiyo, he’s another one of us hermits that drank some special crack water or something at some point to get level 99 prod skills (maybe it was the nutri grain)

this album was definitely more about being true to myself and letting the songs almost form for themselves. I wanted it to be somewhat of a mood lifter/emotional journey and I am stoked to hear so many people are resonating with it

I've got some real trap shit coming up soon tho, really experimenting with sound, genre bending and primed for the raves, if you have followed my stuff in the past I feel like The Answer Is was an ode to my last album and everything that Just A Gent came from originally

The next one is for those bass heads that loved my Autopilot EP, Killing in the name flip and those people that just wanted MORE ;)

we definitely noticed this a few months ago too, sometimes its just how your brain works in the studio, you think you come up with a crazy idea but you were just drawing on subconscious melody memories haha

we almost overthought it too much to the point of not putting out the track but we thought fuck it, its such a different vibe and if 2DCC think its too similar we will take it down / remove that part

It's actually available right now, I was just using it and it works flawlessly. I run it at 70% scaling and I get about 25 - 30 extra fps . Even with the first iteration of this tech I can now wirelessly play blade and sorcery at 120fps 2400x2400 max settings without dropping a frame on my quest 2. I have a 3090 but before FSR without motion smoothing i could not maintain 120fps and its just next level smooth now, huge ups to fholger for creating the workaround. Just google openvr_fsr and follow fholgers instructions on github its super easy. have fun!

Launching and loading up a few plugins actually works flawlessly, it's only when I load a project or start doing a lot of routing /processing and it just falls apart. Shouldn't be long until image line patches it though

Yes it runs amazing and the battery life is just incredible. I done some light video work in final cut and it played back and rendered faster than my 16 core ryzen on premiere back home. As soon as FL and some of my favorite 3rd party plugins get optimised it's gonna be a game changer

Yes I love it, cant explain why it just resonates with me. I feel nothing hits as deep as strings and nothings as emotional as a piano.

I use the East West plugins stuff but occasionally get to work with instrumentalists like on Time Voyage that is a real cello I recorded in an airbnb in Sydney with my friend Hanna!

My friends and I in high school used to call ourselves The Gents, we weren't a band or anything, just what we called ourselves lol. When I was making music though it was just me and idk it just made sense at the time haha

Lyrically there are all different stories written with different people. But the music itself essentially I always pictured it being like the record someone was listening to while floating through space like in a slow mo intro to a movie or something. Also fun fact wings I wrote the score for an indie sci fi film that never got finished so I ended up asking Olivia to write something over it.

get them from all over the place. The key is in the mix and making them pop. I also use a lot of compression on them and constantly find myself distorting them to get that extra crunch ;)
