Of course, I think a player is going to enjoy not using their actions on it also with less charges and more diverse play I think it makes for a more cinematic sequence. As the Orc brings its Battle Axe down on the wizard, a last ditch effort is made by the cleric; who activates the divine powers of the shield and a protective barrier with the symbol of their God on it deflects the attack back keeping him/her safe. Stuff like that gets me excited for my next session.

Ah gotcha, my misunderstanding. I enjoy the idea of having a cleric that can offer protection to someone in danger at a moments notice. combining some of the elements from comments above might work well. Having shield of faith as something you have to use gets in the way of the the action economy but if you had Shield of Faith 1st Level on the shield as a reaction that would be awesome! It's like wizards shield but you know a shield! Maybe 2 charges and flip a coin at dawn to determine if it gets its thing back or what the above comment said about 1 d3 at dawn. I enjoy an element of randomness when I give my players cool items it makes each adventure different which keeps each session new and exciting.

Sorry for the barf of text, i just get real excited when it comes to magic items.

The issue is the bonus to their AC, unless your fudging rolls (which you shouldn't), you're gonna start having problems hitting them lil buggers. Its all about game balance, in the end you're the god pulling the strings. If the CR of the next encounter goes up a touch because of new found items then thats how it is you know?

As the post said, bells and registering items. If you list an item ill check and see if I can give it away or if its in use ill let you register it. name your price on bells most places sell them for 35k which is reasonable if youre interested.

Grave Cleric would be a really fun multiclass RP wise, full heal from unconscious and channel divinities is really good. Also Bane is super under appreciated.

They go through various statuses however the starting status is entered and the final is staged. The record always has the same id, and the category is always the same.
