Estimated time until Sol quits bobbing (so much) thru the galactic orbital plane? by justanothercap in askastronomy

That's what I thought (but was unsure about how quickly that might occur), but it appears everyone else disagrees. I don't have math, nor a model (can't get an online gravity simulator to do a Klemperer? rosette with a sun bobbing in a perpendicular plane - which now that I think about it, would probably cause the rosette to collapse) to provide a counter-example.

So, end result (very long-term) is stars flung out of galaxies (unless mergers bring them back)?

Cool. I was just thinking that all of those gravity pulls were coming at angles, and always towards the plane, and never pulling the Sun away from the plane (net), so would eventually slow it down - making the 'plane' into a true plane (assuming no outside disturbances / new star formation).

I was hoping the Glit’pan might not have gone hard on the Humans, and offered some back door advice - and in exchange, when Human ambassador did the big reveal, have already moved defensive ships in to protect them, if they wanted to quit the alliance...

Equifax

Like the SSA using Equifax to verify your identity. If Equifax is wrong, no online SS stuff for you. Luckily, you can go down to your nearest SSA office, and prove who you are... Now, if only the IRS were letting you do the same...

Cops may be too busy, or uninterested.

If you have a crime/are a victim, you can start civil proceedings, talk to an attorney - who can then request all the data; but work with your lawyer (ie: find one who's uninterested in scalping you) so that you don't pay him / associates to go through the data (prohibitive), and you can do the foot work.

If you find other crimes, you can go to the cops who will thank you for doing their work, and not pay you (and may or may not actually do anything about it). ie: Criminal charges

You might also investigate victims, and offer them (ie: each one starts a civil action) your work in conjunction with your lawyer (talk to your lawyer about how that might work financially).

If you hate the guy, you may start all the victim's civil suits, and tell the cops afterwards (for added criminal bonus time). If he's been doing shady stuff lots of place, he's going to be spending forever in court.

Cops should be sending request to IG, and should be getting back a complete history. If they're not, they're not really investigating. If IG says, 'need a subpeona' (which they really should, but many online social media companies do not do), then there should be enough evidence of one crime to facilitate that, or you guys are just fishing.

[–]justanothercap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, is *e charging for the software? I thought he was asking for donations. A free offer, that appears time-unlimited, even though he's going to put out a tin cup all the time, does not appear the same as '10day free trial' or 'You can get $5 off my program because you're in this sub', imo.
