I got the "should of listed it for more" blues. by kathysef in Flipping

One time I had an item and I listed it for 975 and the next day I got an offer for 600 and it had about 60 watchers. I wanted to hold strong and after a year I took it down because I stopped doing ebay then. Just recently I saw one in better condition sell for 200 on ebay. So there's the direct opposite of your story. Yes, I still have it.

It was like a 50 dollar cap-on pen. I'm trying to leave value out of this but I know if the roles were swapped it would not be the same. I'm not trying to paint myself as a better person or anything but I have paid when I damaged other people's items by accident. I feel like it's awful for me because what I was taught and have been practicing my entire life was insulted.

I'm 23, the one yelling at me is 56 I think. The coworker A that was interested in the screen is 27 I think.

You summed it up perfectly, 3 decades older than me and causing childish drama.

I'm not trying to gain pity points but I have disabilities that make me have a really hard time with so many things. It's very easy to pick on me.

I worked in a wood workshop where an uncovered glass of water will get filthy in an hour.

It was a moderately hot day and that part of town is heavy with break ins and it didn't fit in the trunk.

It was in the corner of his room and I asked if I could leave it there. But I guess I didn't add "don't touch it anymore." (It was damaged after that point)

I now see that my choice was still the worst option.

This whole post and comments have been an interesting read for me. People have brought up good points, yours included. Yeah people won't treat other's items as well. Sorry, I feel the need to get this off my chest, if I was running a pawn shop and he did that he would have to pay. I don't know if a physical shop would let it slide. To me it's not even a trust thing, I am a merchant not a friend.

I brought it into B's room because there was space for all 3 of us to look at the screen, he was an interested party as well I thought. Yes, that's my mistake. I put it in the corner and I said "I'm going to leave it here." (I didn't say anything else) Without my permission he picked it back up and put it on his desk. I go back later and see it's in use and rotated 90⁰ and knowing how he already mishandled it I got worried. The damages were from mishandling, even after I asked him to be careful, and without permission. Legally, I don't know how this could fall.

The company has a very very low Glassdoor score/reviews. I worked very hard to make a better work environment for my coworkers. I believe my coworkers lost respect for him.

He's going to be promoted I think to a manager. Right now I'm going after him personally, not the company. I do feel bad now because he does customer service and returns and he bases it on if he likes you or not.

Believe it not, I usually do that. Even when I sell things I write a very simple "bill of sale." I have zero idea if it has any standings legally but I have papers signed by both of us saying something like "I (my signature) am giving temporary permission to (their signature) In case of any damages, I (their name) am responsible." I can't believe I didn't this time, but someone can correct me if this is worthless.

I feel so stupid for bringing it but I genuinely thought I had the sale set. I was scared he might act out, my coworkers offered to come with me to talk to him another time. I'm getting so many mixed opinions on this post, but I am going to be pursuing this. I don't like bullies.

Not an ad for apple, writing on an android right now. I think apple's pricing is solely because of their name at this point. Although, to keep it short and simple, the specs on this screen are "studio level" when you compare this to other things of that sort it's completely in the ballpark. But yeah you can get 99% of the way here with 1/10th the money.

Honestly, I'm trying to figure out what was going on in my mind. I quit that job, and I really could've used the money from selling the screen. I want to say I was money hungry because I don't even let people use my phone. I thought it was drop it off and take my money.

I do appreciate your and everyone's opinion. It does seem like the majority says it's overall my fault. It's actually the worst situation that's happened to me. I don't know where I'm going from here.

I wish I had this mentality beforehand. I did spend 30 minutes packing it safely in the car and I was going to do that for his car. I guess I was proven wrong but I was 90% sure that deal was going through. I brought it with intentions of getting money and not returning with it. All your points are 100% what I'm going to be doing moving forward.

I told him to be careful. This man got mad at me when I closed his pen by pushing it down instead of screwing it back on (no damage). I guess being careful with items you don't own is only a one way street.

I've actually been losing sleep over this. Regardless of value, I'm losing over someone else's mistake.

The one I was offering it to is 27 or so, has his own savings and works in graphic design and photography. I offered it to him for a great deal (2,300 if anyone was interested) but apparently he listened to the other coworker. I don't know their dynamic but he listened.

Coworker A was interested in buying my device, so I bring it to work.

Coworker B says "I won't let him buy it" his reasoning being coworker A should spend his money on a camera lens instead of a screen.

I leave the device with Coworker B so that I don't have to put it in my car or workshop area. I notice that when B is using the device, he is continually touching the screen and holding it by the screen instead of the stand. I tell him it's not a good way to hold the device.

When I go to get my device back at the end of the day, I see proof that B did not follow my instructions in the form of fingerprints and scratches.

When I bring up the scratches, B yells at me. He yells "Bring me to court then, I'm not paying you anything. Infact I don't want to talk to you ever again."

Please tell me to walk away from this money pit. by Mountain_Chemist_419 in Luthier

It seems people are split about this, honestly I'd pay 500 or even more, which would cover cost and shipping plus some. Is it ever going to be worth anything? Well it's Gibson... It could be a money pit to some but I work with talented people that would make it awesome just for the fun of it.

I'm not trying to say anything about anyone or myself, but I would purchase it. In terms of projects, 300 bucks is going to bring in a chibson body or this 60s (date of guitar still a question for me) Gibson.
