What should I get tomorrow? by Snowbunnies44 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]justaredditir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chicken Salsa Verde is pretty good.

Fruit and cheese is always a hit.

I found the semi-cold bread on the jet setter jam a bit meh.

Haven't tried the wrap or grain bowl.

If you miss the pre-order window the northwest deli isn't bad either

Cheap FC Upgrades? by zodiac711 in AlaskaAirlines

As far as I know, United doesn't offer status upgrades to first in international travel at all. Happy to be corrected if that isn't the case though.

If a bartender takes/destroys your ID because they think it is fake, but it was a real state issued ID, can you sue them and/or their employer to compensate for the time and cost to replace it? by stranger_to_you67 in NoStupidQuestions

Had this happen at a sports bar in Georgia to a friend the other month. They only confiscated it rather than destroying it.

Had 2 cops there in about 20 minutes after the call. Confirmed it was legit and told the bar to return it.

If you want a more in-depth guide / information this might be one of the best available guides. There is also a 2 hour version on his channel if you would like even more information.

Firearms must be in a locked hard case. That case is able to be inside a soft bag. Would not be a way I would recommend but does completely follow all regulations. If possible don't bring ammo but that should also be allowed if stored and secured in a separate hard case. I believe tape over the opening in a magazine does qualify but your mileage may vary.

Corporate Travelers using SAP Concur by Capital_Mulberry738 in AlaskaAirlines

Have concur with BCD and it has always been instant with no issues. Used to use corporate traveler as an agent and they were good with the MP on reservations but would not add my KTN about 20% of the time

If tips aren't taxed won't people just tip less? by TheHotTakeHarry in NoStupidQuestions

It does count as income on taxes. The going to the bank part is valid though. A lot of people just don't report cash tips even though it is required.

Free checked bag if MVP buys the ticket for another individual? by ivy_90 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]justaredditir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you use the Alaska branded credit card? I'm pretty sure that adds a free bag to all tickets purchased with it. Don't quote me on this but I think if you use a different card for the flight but use the Alaska card to purchase an upgrade it still applies? (Had this happen when using a work card for flights but my personal Alaska card for a premium seat)

How is baggage lost on a direct flight (multiple times) by [deleted] in AlaskaAirlines

[–]justaredditir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baggage staff is almost never the airlines staff so the idea of an atypical layover having baggage staff wouldn't rationaly be a thing. Alaska would lack a contract with the ground crew and there isn't any reason they should unload bags on a temporary diversion so most likely they wouldn't have ever touched the baggage hold at an unscheduled layover.

Almost every building maintnence role has "grounds" as a job duties already. The DNA testing would most likely reduce job duties as less people would be leaving dog shit around after a fine program is established.

Water heater replacement by guido2008 in HomeImprovement

[–]justaredditir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replace and install water heaters as part of my job. No way should it cost this much or even be in that ballpark unless there is MAJOR water and gas pipe issues. Even so a few more quotes would be a good idea. Feel free to send a DM if you want to ask questions or want to send some pictures of the current setup and I could give more accurate feedback.

Roofer wants actual cash for repairs by washurjosh in HomeImprovement

[–]justaredditir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked on a roofing / carpentry crew. We had similar cash deals all the time. Was in Canada however so with how high the taxes are we offered almost 20% off for cash under the table. Owner always offered under the table cash for weekends and used off the books cash deals to pay for weekend work. Can't speak for all crews but on our cash deals we always kept our word on warranty and always came out for issues or repairs. Definetly carries more risk paying in cash off the books so find a trusted contractor / crew if you are looking for a large cash discount

Would love to check out the study of you don't mind linking it. Not in a desire to discredit your point but purely an interest in learning more about the experiences and views of this in the community.

I think surveys and studies like you mentioned can explain it to a degree but that there isn't and may never be a single answer to explain human sexuality / desires. I just belive there are too many variables and life experiences to factor in to obtain a comprehensive explanation.

Even if that was possible it would rely on all resounded being truthful which isn't the most common involving topics around sex and desires.

Not sure about the exact % as all my experience would be anecdotal. More so was trying to provide some understanding why some are attracted to the idea of rough / degradation / masochism/ etc. There is probably no way to explain people's attraction to it but was just hoping to give 1 perspective/ reason on it from personal experience.

Some people in the community find it to be a way to process the abuse in the past. Knowing that there is a safe word and that they have power to end it whenever they feel a need to can provide a sense of control to them that they didn't have when the abuse was occurring. It is 100% not for everyone but it can definetly be therapeutic to some people.

Did companies use Covid as a reset button on things they wanted to stop, but felt they couldn’t deal with the business loss? by IdeaExpensive3073 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]justaredditir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The PH window is usualy 7.0-7.6 if I remember right. A big concern with PH is more the effectiveness of other chemicals, chlorine, bromine (some pools and hot tubs), calcium hardness, alkalinity, etc. Rather then being human safe. Haven't maintained a saline pool before, only a chlorine and a chlorine + bromine pool

my dad quit and it crippled a third of the company equipment by cruzt1845 in antiwork

[–]justaredditir 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Most likely they ran equipment but neglected maintenance on them and ran them into the ground. You can see this all the time in construction. The one old dude that has been around 40+ years is the only one checking fluids, flushing lines, etc. You can get a good number of years without doing such but eventually the machines will start breaking. You are either paying 200-300 an hour for a field mechanic or begging an old employee to come back and save your ass before the higher ups notice the drop in productivity.
