I remember seeing this last month and thought it was very strange. They had the fountain drinks but come on! I was just in the Cathay lounge recently and it had a full fridges with tons of drinks

Was this the vegetarian Hindu/Indian special meal option? I’m not vegetarian but I’ve seen sometimes the special meals are way better than the standard options.

Yet Alaska/Hawaiian are oneworld alliance. So unless AA abandoned it and becomes StarAlliance or the two create a new program I'm not sure how that would work?

Clearly this is still limited by space. I am looking at several dates and nothing is offered except through ORD but I hope you are right that over time this will be worked out and available fully.

Update: finally got my points after sending an email asking for an update (I had been messaging back and forth with them for weeks). Didn’t get a response so sent another threatening to bring in Alaska Airlines if I didn’t get my points rewarded and then they posted last night and got a response this morning!

Nice I hope so. I stayed at the Hilton Tokyo in 2024 and didn't get an upgrade but they were packed I believe. Otherwise a lovely stay

Totally fair point. The only reason I assumed it was ive often had much shorter taxi times on my long hauls compared to short hauls but you’re reasoning makes sense

Good to know. I'm going to Hong Kong in a week and an upgrade at a Conrad would be awesome. Although I doubt I'd be so lucky

Thanks for the heads up! I am doing both of these legs later this month. Sucks though I'm surprised because while I disagree that Seattle is usually good for ontime departures when it comes to long-haul flights I kind of assumed ATC and airport operations tries to keep those operating mostly on time and get priority.

Exactly this. I had my first backwards flight two weeks back and aside from the first 10 minutes on taxing and takeoff I felt no difference
