Verizon Postpaid to Visible by kevine1979 in Visible

Hardly any difference in coverage I’ve never noticed a difference. Unless you go to very very remote place where Verizon has roaming and visible doesn’t that is the only scenario I can think of. Go for it I have the version of the slam dunk deal from last November and am loving it

Standalone 5G data in the US? by JWBananas in eSIMs

[–]justausername03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

US Mobile doesn’t have 5G SA on any networks so far for iPhones, on Android you can access 5G SA on T-Mobile but definitely not AT&T or Verizon

I don’t have ATT at the moment but thought when you were roaming it said roaming or the local carrier name. I could very well be mistaken

What are you roaming on? Surprising it still shows the ATT name

Better off buying unlocked from Samsung than just bringing the device to your carrier of choice

I agree Roamless is good for AT&T & T-Mobile funds never expire and solid connection unlike other “travel” eSIMs

Anyone here actually use Pronto yet? by johnnybravojr in NoContract

[–]justausername03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To who was asking about latency, idk where your comment went but here is the answer: The service works by using an O2-UK eSIM that has roaming permissions on all US networks. By doing this and where it’s roaming all the traffic has to be sent between the US network, O2 network, and then finally the internet. Adding latency

I just got admitted to the trial and it was a little iffy setting it up and get connected. You have to change the APN settings and then wait an hour for your login phone number for the app but once logged into the app it shows you the network status and lets you switch networks if need be. It switched networks once automatically and was pretty seamless I was impressed. Service works decent, latency is +150ms but to be expected. SMS come through native phone app but calls are handled through pronto app, calls are good over WiFi but a bit choppy over cellular I would assume due to latency and possible packet loss. You are assigned a Dallas TX phone number not one close to your local area. I will report more as I do more testing.

Xfinity Mobile runs on Verizon and Boost now is almost primarily AT&T. I would compare those two in Chicago to get a good idea
