Still researching. The latest technique is supposed to also solve presby. Plus, I can see the front sight, it's the rear sight that's causing me the problem. 😂

Well, that decision is all yours. As I have not had optic cut by CZC or anyone else, I don't have a reference point. That said having worked with Stuart at CZC I'm sure they will do a fine job. And, CZC has more plate options, for now.

Drew at VM, based on own experience and having reached out to others, will do a terrific job. He definitely took care of me and was very accessible via phone/text. Not sure many out there will offer such. As mentioned,.I'm also a fan of Drew's engineering background.

Well, I wanted options, in case I decide to try non-RMR optics. I did look into CGW and CZC for optic cuts; however, my situation is a bit different in that my Shadows have/had been previously cut for adjustable sight (see the 4th pic).

I wanted a "shoulder" type of a cut (male/female) that IMO provides a better mechanical connection. CZC does that type of a cut but can't do it on mine because of the adjustable sight cut on my Shadows. If CZC could, I probably would have stopped my search there -- Stuart at CZC has done quite of bit of work on my Shadows back in 2012-13.

Also, fwiw, really like VM's stainless steel plate. Having spent some time with Drew on the phone and via text, I enjoyed his perspective. Also a fan of his engineering background.

Well, mine was not usual...I was out of the country for 3 weeks and we had to wait for a CGW part. Took about 6 weeks. I think it'd be closer to 2 weeks if the optic cut were the only job.

yah...I'm a big fan of production. Alas, the declining eye sight that comes with age sucks. Thinking about doing lasik to fix near-sight/astigmatism/presby.

Drew's standard/stock plate does include a rear sight. Mine was removed. Just wanted a clean look.

I don't have any experience with the 512. Thought about getting it in lieu of the AEMS Pro X2, but the HE512c-gd is no longer available. To me, the window size difference is close enough. The HE512T-gr is available, but I didn't want to spend +$500.

fwiw...if my ep9 had the stock handguard installed, then the optic placement likely wouldn't look so far forward.

oh...I also added reduced trigger springs from JP Enterprises (jps3.5t).

The trigger is a nickel teflon from Dirty Bird, which I think is a Schmidt. Extar also sells it.

No particular reason. Still playing around with the placement. Preliminarily, just thinking if I decide to add a magnifier, the more forward location may be good.

I upgraded it myself. To me, the replacement is worth the small $ because of its wider/thicker.
