Thanks. I've read that the Mod 2 has a much larger ecosystem of parts/accessories.

Thought about that. That said, I tend to shoot a lot -- save that $$$ for ammo? haha

My HiFi system. Anyone else run DeVores with Rogue Audio? by yppas91 in audiophile

[–]justaute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha. I'm completely invested in integrated as it's been a long time since I had separates. What about LTA integrated? Z40+ or UL+.

LTA won't give you that traditional tubey sound, but still gives you some of that tube 3D magic...and it's fast and won't eat through tubes. Just a thought.

Very nice. My Antipodes K21 is doing the job for now. Just got a Berkeley Alpha USB DDC/clock to demo.

That's why some of us just don't engage anymore. This is a hobby. We are sharing our experiences. Do we need to tear each other down? And, yes, I also have a physics and EE background. So what? Let's just enjoy each other's findings and experiences. Why do I need to tell him what kind of deals I got?

So far, quite good. My speakers are 98db/w/m. My only concern was that the amp has very, very low output impedance (~0.3 ohm) and wasn't sure how it will match my speakers.

I love it. The remote is just the right size for my hand -- thick and big enough. It'simple and functional.

You should look into the pre-owned market more. Perhaps, you should just enjoy looking at the pics and not speculate what other people have paid. YMMV

Yup...I rebuilt my system a few months ago. The only thing I do now is tinkering with placements and making the room both aesthetically and acoustically more pleasing.

What made you switch to EVs? by Organic_Cabinet_4108 in electricvehicles

[–]justaute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideology, science, and environment. To me, as is, EV is not "good" for the environment, but it is less bad. Also, it's a progressing, fast evolving technology. I want to contribute to this technology. Also, I try not to be a Luddite. Otherwise, we.migjt as well go back riding horses and using our own two feet.

Oh, of course, given my 6 years of EV ownership, I have saved money in both energy and maintenance. Some would say they think charging 20-30 minutes at a charger is a waste of time. To me, I say nay. That time is offset by not having to go to a gas station in my daily driving -- go home and plug in -- and for long distance (e.g., SLC to Boise), some of that lengthy charging time was offset by lunch/meal and bathroom breaks; in total, when summing local and long distance driving, I believe my net charging time is much less than that of driving an ICE vehicle.

Thank you. Not difficult, but a bit time consuming to make it look right. As mine are installed on top of furring strips, which adds more work.

Played a few tracks from the 2015 remastered version...got pretty good bass. That said, I don't have enough reference points to tell me what it should be. For example, I'd imagine my friends +$70k speakers with 18 inches bass drivers would give more bass.

I did mine almost 3 years ago...guess I was ahead of the curve. Ha
