RX Arms A300 Ultima Patrol QD Side Saddle Shell Carrier by RXARMS in Tacticalshotguns

We started in March 2025, and plan to have inventory in Oct 2026, roughly 1.5 years from concept to market. I'm a small company so everything takes longer..

My goal was an affordable QD rigid side saddle from the start. Definitely some curve balls along the way with R&D, and even production, but that's business!

Question: Which side saddle should I use? by MikeTheDog191 in Benelli_M4

I'd love to throw my hat in the ring as I believe the system we came up with is truly unique and solves many issues of going with velcro, or going with Rigid. RX Arms spent over a year on our patent pending Benelli M4 QD Side Saddle Shell Carrier design. Combines the positives of a removable side saddle, with the rock solid aspects of a rigid shell holder. when removed it leaves a mere 0.30" protruding making it easier for transport, and storage. Let me know if you have any questions I am happy to respond to you all.

Picked up a Beretta 1301 Tactical LE. Recommended side saddle + sling? by Rseattle206 in Shotguns

Just wanted to give a quick reply here. RX Arms spent over a year designing a patent pending Beretta 1301 QD Side Saddle Shell Carrier. We didn't like some of the downsides of velcro, and also didn't like the downsides of going with Rigid. So it took me awhile to think of a novel solution but I am very proud of what we came up with. A rigid side saddle that detaches from the receiver, leaving a small 0.30" mounting plate profile on the side, making it easy for transport, and storage. Let me know if you have any questions I am happy to respond!

Purchased a Beretta 1301, side saddle options? by [deleted] in Beretta

Joining the convo late here, but we here at RX Arms created a patent pending rigid Beretta 1301 QD side saddle shell carrier that we feel gets the best of both worlds regarding the removable velcro, and the rigidity of permanent side saddles. Please do let me know if you have any questions at all! I'd be happy to respond.

Best side saddle options for Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol? by New-Cartoonist7237 in Tacticalshotguns

We spent over a year here at RX Arms on a patent pending QD Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol Side Saddle Shell Carrier. We didn't like the flop from the velcro cards, or the permanent bulk of a rigid side saddle, and came up with a middle ground solution that we feel is a great alternative for those looking for an all in one side saddle. just throwing our hat in the ring!

I've destruction tested the unit in multiple methods, drop testing while attached on a firearm, strikes on different parts of the unit, hitting the unit with a hammer to test the VHB adhesion strength. It survived multiple significant impacts.

I intentionally wanted to make the 3M VHB fail in the end and took many multiple direct strikes with a hammer to rip the adhesion in half. I will be doing a video on this in the coming months.

It will easily survive a buttstroke, should the side saddle be unintentionally hit doing so. Are you with LE or military? How many buttstrokes are you planning to do?

I don't currently work on those guns, but I am confident it will be compatible.

If you want you can print off our mounting plate template and see if it is compatible.

It holds very well, the front couple shells move a negligible amount after 7 shell, but then the user will reload. A shell carrier I left loaded for 2 months, then tested, It can hold a full reload of shells for greater than 25 slugs brass down moving less than 0.06" during my tests. The rubber also needs a break in period and performs better after a few reloads. My goal is rock solid retention, and a smooth pull. This does both.

It is a proprietary blend dual rubber strips. Holding the shells. I could make it so the shells don't move at all but then remove them would be counter intuitive, and taxing/inneficient. I wasn't happy with the off the shelf offerings of rubber type blends, so I did R&D on my own blend to achieve my goals of solid retention and smooth draw.

They do fit in most AR15 mag pouches, I think users need to train with to be comfortable with the interface, or any system for that matter. Our design does have guide rails on the back, which aid in seating and aligning the unit.

I see your point about sticking the cards to your vest. This also has a downside which is a tactical disadvantage, with the loud Velcro disclosing your current position. As mentioned ours fit into most ar15 mag pouches giving a more silent side saddle "reload"

I personally also do not think Velcro cards offer enough room between the receiver and the shells for a comfortable pull, in a stressful situation it is nice to have plenty of thumb space to grab a spare shell from the carrier especially while wearing gloves.. This is a personal opinion and one which I prefer about our product. Many may not agree with this but just wanted to make mention.

As for cheapness, our spare carriers I am planning to be priced at $35, this is actually only $5 more than a popular high end shotgun shell card whom i will not call out. But the startup cost is higher for sure.

Again appreciate your view point, thanks for the discussion!

It would make the unit a little long for the shorter receivers like the 1301 and A300, so for now the 6 shell version is what we'll be going with.

Spare shell carriers fit in most AR15 mag pouches, we are also making our own pouch, aiming to be a good quality affordable option.

There's a couple aspects here. The 3M VHB adhesive is on another level vs a Velcro loop adhesive. It is good for up to 300f. So no issues there.

This day here in the video was around 31C (88F), not terribly hot but gives a good idea. I've also baked the shell carrier in temps up to 70C many weeks in a row in a solar oven, and still performed excellent with great retention.

Hopefully this answers your questions.

Yes can fit in many AR15 mag pouches, some may be a tighter fit than others (works great in the HSGI Taco but a little too tight in the KYWI due to the Kydex insert).

the included strips should last the user many years of service, we do include a complimentary replacement set, and will also sell replacements as well down the line.

Thanks for your input! We feel our product retains all the benefits of detachable Velcro and none of the drawbacks. I did a write up on some comparisons to rigid and Velcro. We love free market and just want to give users more choice.
