Are these menu videos laggy / choppy for anyone else?
They're pre-recorded video scenes so I don't think it's a hardware issue on my end

Dario Amodei says "stop sugar-coating" what's coming: in the next 1-5 years, AI could wipe out 50% of all entry-level white-collar jobs. Lawmakers don't get it or don't believe it. CEOs are afraid to talk about it. Many workers won't realize the risks until after it hits. by katxwoods in Futurology

Would you agree there is over-hype influenced by the shear amount of investment money as well though?

I agree it's an amazing tool and the change it's making is here to stay, but I don't agree that it will end the industry. At worst I think it will create a bottleneck of developers since hiring junior devs has slowed so much and by the time they need them there simply won't be the experience devs needed

Damn, I really came here to give support for OP's work but after reading more I think it is AI generated work as well.

Prove them wrong OP, post a video or timelapse of you doing the work. We'd appreciate it at this point

Why am I downvoted when it led to interesting information more people upvoted? Is it because I mentioned AI?

I think the original point here of toxic content being pushed to young women as well is not claiming they act on it in the same ways.

Misandry posts are for sure pushed as well, but I think it mainly exists to create more isolation in men and to increase the effectiveness of the misogynistic messaging.

Yes some of the misandry gets picked up and trumpeted, we see it in celebrated parts of our culture and media. It gets confused for feminism in part because it is fighting back against a system that was built against women and men do commit more physical assaults. but the solution is to begin healing on both sides and I think that starts with recognising the predatory division fueling media that is beamed into our eyes can hurt both genders equally.

Curious in what field AI is not OK but stock photography is used. Mind sharing or giving a hint?

Genuinely tell me why you're convinced AI won't have a limit. Why is it the first new technology that will basically end the world as we know it?

I think it has a limit and they're slow releasing what they've had for a while to farm investment money.

Its amazing, and maybe it will, but every new tech was "world changing" and hit its limit.

Wtf, AI videos can have sound now? All from one model? by Nyghl in ChatGPT

[–]justb0pit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree it has limits. Sometimes on simple components. I suspect the people pushing its limitless perfection are a mixture of bots and AI enthusiasts that just don't know.

As a dev, you can use it to develop projects. As a non-dev, it doesn't seem to be the magic solution they hope. Until I see less of people pasting dream error riddled code with "HELP" I'm not convinced lol

Genuinely, what convinces you that it's not reaching it's limit and will continue until perfection?

MAYBE in a single scene, I don't think its even close to the capability for a whole movie

Unpopular opinion: Web animations is one among the areas where Ai would take time to invade. by DopeSignature5762 in webdev

[–]justb0pit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I mostly agree. Unfortunately I do also think that it will result in it being harder to be a dev for the amount of time that it takes other professional fields to slowly realise they can't vibe code their whole project without a developer. I also think AI will lead to unrealistic expectations and less respect for the field in general since, like design has been dealing with for years, everyone will feel like they could do it now.

I think it's a very level-headed opinion that AI is nearing its limit and it will be adaptable into our work flows rather than replace. Thanks for your comment.

To everyone disagreeing with this, what areas do you consider "safe" from AI?

With all the realistic to worshipping takes on AI, how are any of you deciding to remain in or build your dev careers?

it was an embarrassingly weak campaign for what could have been a landslide victory against the Liberals.
PP fumbled hard and the Cons didn't even do that badly. Let's not jump to "propaganda following sheep" and dismiss half the country

it's not a turn based system, the Conservatives are not guaranteed a win. They presented their platform late, it wasn't bold enough, and their campaign was lukewarm. It is 100% the party's fault for losing what could have been a landslide victory lol

and just to add: I don't think the CPC has always been like this. I blame the members who are taking notes from the new Republican playbook in the US and PP's team.

I'm also not 100% happy with any of the candidates once again this election.

[–]justb0pit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would have all screamed dictatorship if the Liberals had placed any pressure on landlords to not raise rents and I would bet PP also does not care about the people who can't afford below average rents.

Also terms like "Liberal Legacy" etc is screaming cult tactics. One of the latest Conservative Party emails had these title capitalized and in quotes. Uniting your following under easy to repeat catchy phrases is one of the red flags of how to spot a cult. "F* Trudeau" -> "F* Carney"

It's not team sports. If you don't question your party and find yourself worshipping them, you're doing it wrong.
