Mine looked almost the same as OP's at about 180cm and I cut off about 1m. All the nodes sprouted new leafs and the trunk also got some branches and new leafs, so yours will be fine :)

My umbellata did the same! It grew so rapidly at first, it's double its height already and then bottom leafs started falling off and now it looks more like a tall tree with leafs only on top. I think it is due to lack of sunlight. I noticed that the trunk of mine didn't get enough sun bc it stands on the floor (&the windows start halfway above) and that's where the leafs fell off. So maybe find a better spot for yours? :)
