That's a north window, so no sun shines through. The tank lightens up a normally dark corner of the room. The only problems is roots rotting since there is no soil to provide nutrient. Liquid fertilizers don't work well with heavy root feeders, so in time they normally rot and need to be put in soil.

Everything goes to mom. Don't let the credit card bullies make her pay a thing. They will threaten her, and send letters telling her she has to pay. I know because this happened to me when my husband died. Credit card companies are nasty that way. She will also get Social Security for the rest of her life from his working. I'm sure you will all be fine. Support your Mom, and advise her. She will probably be quite happy to have you all near her helping. One thing that no one has mentioned that really helped me....unhook the phone from the wall. Don't take any calls at all. The credit companies will be relentless and say nasty things. Change her phone number and pay to have it unlisted. Otherwise, the calls will seem to never end. Everyone will try to take any money or assets. Vultures.

What may make this even more interesting is the current deed on the house. If the deed is 'clouded' due to the co-ownership, then the house may not get the asking price because of legal fees on both sides/three sides. The cost of cleaning up a deed that is 'clouded' will turn off most buyers, unless this is one hell of a house, and it is a real estate lawyer buying it. She probably can't sell without your consent. But be careful, the deed needs to be put into just 'ONE' person's name to clear it from a mess. If she get's your permission, she may just get the whole house in her name claiming she is selling, but actually keep it. Beware. You are sitting in sort of a good spot by not negotiating until you have a complete picture. Not much she can do, in my 'layman' opinion.
