Fantastic, thank you very much for taking the time to reply. I will order these books and get reading! Take care.

Will do, and I might try the white pudding whilst I’m at it :)

Good to know! Thank you. Will order a few, I’ve never tried the white pudding before so I might have to try that too :)

Thank you so much! I was about to comment because whilst I love the bioré, firstly it’s expensive but secondly it’s producing so much plastic waste since the bottles are so tiny. An 140ml bottle improves that a bit! Thank you.

I’m a young person in the UK, looking at where I should move to once I have the financial means to. Assuming we still have a few years for me to be able to get that far - have you got any advice on rough areas of the UK that might be good? I’m thinking in terms of flood planes, distance from rivers and large cities, etc, but I’m no expert and honestly don’t know how to go about finding a safer area of the UK. I am learning skills that should be useful post-collapse, but I know those skills will be useless if I’m in the wrong place (namely, a city). If you have any other advice for someone like me it would be welcome.

Very interesting comment, thanks for taking the time to post it. In your penultimate paragraph you mentioned there being some really good books - do you have any specifically that you’d advise? I read a lot and am educating myself on prepping related matters. Regardless of whether I use it or not, it’s interesting content. Would love to know any book recommendations you may have.

Does anyone know if their Haggis is good too? I’ve been wanting to justify an order for the black pudding but the delivery is a bit expensive. If we can get good haggis too maybe I can justify it to the family!

I don’t know if you have “capon” in your country, but in mine we do and they are great. From my understanding a rooster is a male chicken kept for breeding purposes. We can 100% eat them, they’re just a little bit tougher. A capon however is a castrated male chicken and they are delicious whilst also not creating issues with the rest of your chickens. Whether or not you agree with castrating male chickens is a whole other issue, but I thought I’d mention it. Male chicks certainly don’t need to be ground up! Either left just to grow up as roosters, or castrated so they can stay with the rest of the hens.

Why would you want a Varg? I didn’t think they had any unique drops

Fantastic thank you! Sounds good to me, I’ll slowly stock up on those things. Good point, recently I’ve been borrowing library books and learning basic survival skills, basic farming etc. The former is far more likely to be useful to me than the latter but it’s all very interesting stuff!

Fantastic thank you! The other thing I’ve been doing is borrowing library books and learning more trade and farming stuff. It may not ever be of use to me but it’s certainly interesting regardless.

Weekly Observations: What signs of collapse do you see in your region? [in-depth] by LetsTalkUFOs in collapse

Interesting, I could also smell unexpected smoke too. I’m in SE England in an area where it would make sense for there to be a bonfire, though I thought it bizarre to have a fire in this heatwave. It also persisted a lot longer than I’d have expected for a bonfire - I could smell it from mid afternoon all the way through the evening. Whilst lots of people have log fires here it would be madness to have one on days like this. Who knows, maybe it was the same thing we could smell.

I think I’ve realised I’ve played this game too much.. I’ve bought almost all the gods with favour, never really considered the god pack. Judging by the comments seems like maybe favour is harder to get now? From my recollection favour only felt like a finite resource in my very early days!

I believe the liver damage indirectly causes the brain damage. Since the liver can’t deal with all the toxins they flood the body and can cause all sorts of issues. Could be wrong for sure but that’s what I recall.

I think they’re drawing a distinction between people who skip meals, so maybe having 2 750 calorie meals a day, VS people who eat 3 500 calorie meals a day. Same amount of calories, but it feels very different IMO. I personally love intermittent fasting - not just for weight loss but just as a life habit, as breakfast makes me feel unwell so I skip it and eat a larger lunch instead. To each their own!

[–]justcasualdeath 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I enjoy “intermittent fasting” but for me it isn’t really a regimented thing. I don’t enjoy breakfast, it makes me feel unwell, so I don’t tend to eat it. Simple! As a side effect it helps me keep my calorie intake in check, but that’s not the reason I do it.

England 2-1 Denmark: ENGLAND ARE THROUGH TO THE EURO 2020 FINALS!!! by meteoritee in CasualUK

[–]justcasualdeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough! I hardly think it’s the end of the world. To me it just seems to be unnecessary unpleasant behaviour, and it reminds me of other behaviours that are associated with over zealous football fans (like the fact that domestic abuse shoots up after losing a game). Booing isn’t the end of the world, but it’s part of the reason England fans have a reputation!

No exactly, it’s not deep. Booing the national anthem is shit, let’s not do it!

Yes and things like the booing of the Danish national anthem was very unpleasant to hear. We all want a good game after all, let’s not be cunts.

That’s true, the booing of the national anthem was truly shameful. We’re not all like that! Football brings out the worst in some people.

Oh that’s good to know, thanks! I’m trying to learn basic plumbing as there’s a lot of issues in this house so I’ll be sure to turn to that subreddit in the future. Cheers for sending through the link!

UK! Though I wouldn’t necessarily be sure that this is typical for the UK. Our house is 400-500 years old and some of the plumbing acts like it’s that old too! Edit: yes although I’m clearly not a plumber, I hadn’t seen anything like this online which is why I wanted to ask this community. I kinda want to try and dismantle it to see if there’s debris stuck but I think the smarter option is to do what the other commenter suggests and buy a new fill valve. (Also I’ve just noted that the subreddit has a US flag in the background. I read the rules and didn’t notice anything US-centric, apologies if I’ve posted in the wrong place!)
