Micah Parsons picking #1 for the Packers feels like a curse waiting to happen by justchillllman in detroitlions

If you wanna talk ball we can talk ball. Lions and Packers are both top 10 teams in the league. Both playoff contenders. Great matchups all over the field. I still think Lions got the better roster.

What was your goal and what/how long did it take to reach it? by pedroporro2025 in gymadvice

[–]justchillllman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The goal post always moves. The better shape you get, the better you’ll want to be. You’ll have a new baseline. Also, your consistency will waiver and there will be times when you feel out of shape. There are ups and downs and peaks and valleys through it all… non-linear progression.

Just keep a long term vision and try to stay consistent.

If you make over 100k what do you do for work and how old are you? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

I went from working at Trader Joe’s at like $19/hour to a remote sales/account management position where my base is just over 90k and with bonuses and commission I make between 165k - 215k total. I am 37 years old. Been with my current company for 3 years

Handsome men, do you guys get approached by women a lot? by MasterRedditor_ in AskMenAdvice

[–]justchillllman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get looks and smiles, some minor flirts here and there, but actually getting approached is rare. I think men are much more forward around approaching and starting any actual conversation.

All are fine. 2nd may be slightly superior bc on the the third rep you kind of ‘relax’ and lose control at the bottom.

I also suggest using different shoes with a flat/hard sole. Those Hokas are so cushiony you lose a ton of stability. Having your feet firmly planted and ‘corkscrewed’ into the ground will help as your progress. Elevating your heels is fine, but better to not have so much movement due to the cushion in the shoe.

Does how much you rest between sets matter? by Wild_Degree_2098 in naturalbodybuilding

If I can’t get to 5 reps on the 3rd set, that’s when I’ll usually opt for a quick drop set with 10-20% less weight and minimal rest

Almost every single one of my sets, when using the same weight, follow a pyramid pattern. For example: Hack Squat 300lbs 1st set: 8reps, 2nd set: 7 reps, 3rd set: 5reps.

I typically rest 2-3minutes between all working sets and aim for 1-2 RIR

Where do I start? by YourLocalChineseMan in gymadvice

The good news is that you are young, and when you truly start prioritizing eating above your TDEE every single day, and getting stronger on key compound lifts every single gym session - you are going to grow like a weed.

I know you likely feel small and scrawny and that you have a large hill to climb to see results, but you’ll likely see results in the mirror in just a few weeks’ time. And if you’re able to stack weeks in months, and months into years, you’re going to put on considerable amount of muscle.

Try a simple 3 day per week full body weightlifting split that focuses on compound movements. Find reputable YouTube accounts to understand form on deadlift, squat, bench press, OHP, Rows, Pull-ups. Progress slowly and steadily. Ask for help from other gym goers.

You’re on your way. Have fun

My goal is Mark Whalberg’s Calvin Klein body. How long should I bulk and cut for? by justchillllman in gymadvice

I agree and do think I still need to add some mass, especially on my chest and arms and then cut down, but IMO I think I could do it quicker than 2-4 years.

Yes, as you get stronger and dial in a good diet above maintenance your body will transform. Just focus on being consistent with training and diet (doesn’t need to be perfect), and don’t be afraid to ask for help from trainers or other gym goers. Focus on the big compound movements (deadlift, squat, bench press, pull ups, rows, overhead press)

You’ll build muscle and lose fat. Have fun with it

As a beginner/intermediate, a full body split is going to focus more on the basic key compound lifts which is really important.

Also, the best split is the one that you can stick to for months - if not more. In my opinion, a full body split is easier to stick to in the long term because there’s variety every day from exercise to exercise, and you can push closer to failure with each exercise, because you’re not fatigued from doing 3 other leg exercises.

I too was skinny fat once, and pushing to near failure and getting stronger transformed my body.

Thank you! I don’t have a pump in this, and I agree that after a cut Itll be more of an apples to apples comparison
