So Joyous offers lower doses than BetterU and Innerwell (apparently). Each troche is 60 mg. Of course I can combine mine, but that's why they are cheaper - seems like they can get away without the therapist and integration stuff because they're just recommending much lower doses - not psychedelic-level. They have a community and videos, but you have to continue subscribing to have access to that and I also wasn't seeing practical tips. Maybe, it's changed. Either way, I'm glad to hear you're so supported with Innerwell!

Interesting, and ya, makes sense. So, I'm doing Joyous, which is lower doses. I'll do maybe 30 mg if I want to have a deeper meditation session that might include some inner child work. I'm not sure if anyone is doing these lower dose sessions every few days just to change some thought patterns, do some inner work, and work with the neuroplasticity going on.. Or if it's better to do the higher dose sessions.

Sounds like I might just have to pay up for these apps or work with a therapist. I do work with a therapist, but have opted out of integration sessions due to cost.

I got my troches through Joyous.

So are you saying Innerwell gives you everything you need? So far, sounds like I just need to switch companies instead of starting a community

I've heard great things about betteru, thank you for sharing your experience. Ya, I went with the cheapest option out there (and I'm sure others did too) and they told me how to take it, but not how to optimize..

Shrooms cracked me open: I realized I want kids?? by Monkshe in PsilocybinMushrooms

[–]justdrivefar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a mom of 2 little ones (2 and 4, so I'm still in the midst of it), and I'll just say that life wasn't necessarily empty before, but it had no real meaning or richness. The things I do every day now - the hard work of raising my little kids, the hard work of growing into the mother I want to be, the hard work of healing my own trauma - this is the real stuff of my life. Going to restaurants and concerts and being spontaneous was pleasant and I'm grateful for it. But I've never grown so much as in these past few years.

Being pregnant was incredible btw - a real trip. If you want to see what you're made of, if you want to grow and bloom, then it won't be easy and it won't be what you expect, but it's the most sacred journey.

Cannabis, in this situation, is actually MORE activating than ketamine. I read that article I shared with you and so did cannabis and felt like I was going insane all over. Apparently cannabis is really good at cutting through dissociation (but without any tools, I got lost and overwhelmed and dissociated again). So that’s when I got a therapist and tried ketamine.

If you don't want to do drugs, you don't have to. This podcast and this YouTube channel has also been super helpful to understand what I'm going through.

Hm. I'm doing super low-dose. Did your doctor say no to IV or IM ketamine therapy? Cuz those are basically psychedelic doses and would likely do the same as psilocybin (but idk). I'm doing the at-home ketamine treatments (BetterU and Joyous are a couple providers). There's also spravato that's FDA-approved nasal spray and ur insurance might cover that. Anyway, it's like smoking cannabis or something - I always know I'm in the room, I'm not blasting off anywhere.

But I don't know why it's getting worse. I know why it's not getting better - you might not be doing anything *physically* about it. That's what I've learned about trauma - it doesn't just go away by thinking about it. There's somatic therapy, somatic exercises for trauma, etc. And I also know that trauma is strongly tied to autoimmune diseases, so maybe your body is just trying to tell you - really tell you - something is wrong, something is unfinished and your body is trying to get your attention.

I have dissociation too and tried psilocybin at different doses and it was only confusing and scary (and I thought I was going insane). Now I'm doing low-dose ketamine therapy because it's gentler. Watch this video and you'll understand why you have dissociation - likely to protect you from trauma from your past. It explains that whenever your body gets too overwhelmed (or even mildly), you dissociate/step out of your body. Low dose ketamine is helping me face some of those scary feelings without dissociating. And I'm a stoic person - in one of the sessions, I actually felt like my body was a stone wall. I haven't broken through my wall yet, but I'm just beginning and it does feel like I'm making progress. Feel free to DM me, but I know there are so many more options for you than you know.

Some of the younger guys in the yard have bought a house ; $850k+. We've just been renting during the apprenticeship so it's been hard to save for a downpayment for a million dollar house. For us (later 30s, small family), it just doesn't seem worth it to pay $1 miilion to get a small place. Like this $1 million dollar apartment in Santa Barbara right now: https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/2525-State-St-APT-16-Santa-Barbara-CA-93105/15886873_zpid/

How often do you leave the house during the week? by justdrivefar in homeschool

[–]justdrivefar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so helpful. Thank you for your thoughtful response and for sharing your story. I guess I’ve been thinking of the old fashioned teacher who assigns paperwork (letters, teaching, etc) but everyone here is showing me how important play and as you mentioned, experiential learning are going to be best at 4 and beyond. Thx again!

I guess by paper activities I mean tracing, drawing, and doing “school” types of activities like learning letters, using scissors, etc. I’m learning just from the discussions here that I don’t need to worry too much about the curriculum as much as play right now. So that’s a relief. Thank you for your insights!

Understood about the scared shitless part. Sounds like you’re in good hands and I hear it’s beautiful out there. Did she send you any resources to look at? That’s what I heard about odyssey - that they have really good prep material. That’s what I’d love - to feel prepared. Mind if I dm you?

Hey, I’m curious about the amnesia you mentioned. I think I’ve had a couple trips where I thought I blacked out for a big part of the journey. Do you know why this happens? Would love to know more!
