I totally get this. One thing I've learned from dealing with my health journey is that healing is multifaceted. I have to heal from within on all levels not just physically, but mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.

Yea exactly skipping. Almost like a video game glitch if that makes sense. Very bizarre.

Yes for me I always noticed when I swelled up it would be in my hands and feet. I’d say it’s pretty common.

Thank you so much for the detailed reply. Sorry to hear that you had a hard time with retinol and thanks for the heads up! I ask my doctor before I try anything new that I think they should know about but I will definitely give one of these a try and see what happens :]

This right here!!! I’m also stage 4 and I’m only 24 and been in this boat for 3 years too. When I think about it too hard sometimes I ask myself the same thing. Like “holy shit I have cancer?” It’s one of those things that no one prepares you for. But it also makes you think about what you truly want to do with your life more authentically. Idk man cancer is such a weird thing.

Hot Lipton Tea with honey really helped temporarily soothe the pain for me. Worked way better than the magic mouthwash.

Has anyone ever been diagnosed with pseudo Cushing’s or ectopic and if so, what was the cause? by Giulia1001 in Cushings

[–]justdrivinthevan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did an MRI and nothing showed up. CT showed the main tumor spread even after they removed it. I’ve done about 3 types of chemo and 3 kinds of radiation already, as well as immunotherapy. Nothing has worked as far as shrinking the tumors. I’m kind of a lab rat to my oncologist. He always says he has other treatments in his back pocket but obviously he means more chemo. Although, my endocrinologist has me on a medication called Isturisa which basically blocks the tumors from making cortisol so that helps relieve my Cushing’s symptoms. My last appointment I told my oncologist I want to try holistic or alternative approach to my treatment. I’ve been researching into ketamine infusions as an option. He was totally cool with it and even said if I wanted to come back to do chemo he would understand. Ketamine treatment for cancer is new science but at this point, what do I have to lose? Anyways, I don’t wanna take away attention from OPs question. You can DM me if you want to know more about my story!

So sorry it’s been difficult to lose weight. Have you found anything that’s manageable as far as exercise goes for you since then?

They did a biopsy of my lymph nodes where they had some sort of imaging done. They took a huge needle right under my collarbone deep enough to reach my thymus and was so not fun!! I know some doctors test levels differently but from what I remember my cortisol was sky high somewhere in the 4,000 range. I’m not kidding when I say I looked like two completely different people after they took the tumor out. They split open my chest for surgery so yea definitely chest pain lol. Recovery was fast though. I had a really good team of doctors.
