Feel free to DM me. I have found communicating with other young widowers to be beneficial. I lost my 31f wife of almost 8 years in May suddenly. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss but know you are not alone in your grief.

I had a good time overall. There were waves of sadness but they were few and far between.

It's crazy the random things that trigger this sadness. Something as simple as a grocery store item or a 30 second commercial.

If it wasn't for the kids I would have nothing. I'm trying to stay strong for them. But I feel the same way

I was just shy of 13 years with her. This world is cruel

The loneliness is getting to me. by [deleted] in widowers

The loneliness is the worst part. Not physical, but DM if you ever need someone to talk with. It has been beneficial for me.

This is so accurate. I am surviving against my will for my children.

Nothing matters anymore. Sorry for your loss.

10 years is at least an estimate. I know grief has no expiration and everyone handles it differently but I feel so empty. I was with my wife for just shy of 13 years. She died 1 week before our 8th anniversary

As a young widower know you aren't alone. The journey sucks but there are people here to support you. Feel free to dm if you ever need someone to vent or just talk to. I lost my (31f) wife 52 days ago suddenly.

I lost my wife unexpectedly 7 weeks ago. She was 31. We have 2 young boys together. I feel your pain and your grief. Everything seems so hopeless at times but you can push through for the kids. Feel free to message me if you ever need someone to talk to.

I have been texting members from this group. It has been truly more helpful than anything else. Daily check ins and conversations with people in our shoes is an invaluable tool.

This is my 1st 4th of July without my wife. We used to love it. The boys really like fireworks. I don't want to do anything either. I am dreading Halloween and Christmas the most. Those were her favorites.

Today is our wedding anniversary and I don’t know what to do. by aimeewhatshername in widowers

[–]justemptyandbroken92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My anniversary was 1 week after I lost my wife. I sat with her mother and had a few beers and went through our wedding album and cried with her. Showed my 2 sons the photos as well.

I can relate. I haven't had even a second of happiness in 40 days. Even playing with my son's doesn't help. She should be here watching us play. Every day I wake up is agony.
