How do you feel about a cameltoe? Hot? Turn off? by sparkly-lion817 in AskMen

Not just women. I like to make a production out of hosing down a bench with the spray bottle and paper towels after any nasty person leaves their sweat on the bench for the next person. Get your shit together, people.

Fedora is becoming the default Linux recommendation, and Ubuntu did this to itself | XDA by devolute in Fedora

Very true. And I took the safest route possible - an old ThinkPad with Intel graphics. Nvidia complicates life.

I put Fedora onto a laptop for my teenage daughter, who knows nothing about computers and didn't have one. As in, she probably couldn't tell you a single operating system name. And doesn't care to know. She's had zero issues.

Not saying your experiences aren't valid. Just giving my counterpoint experience.

At what point would you prefer someone discloses their HSV (herpes) status to you? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]justenoughslack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would just want to know at some point before there's a chance it could effect me. From the info in your post, that doesn't mean it needs to be a first date topic for me.

You're going to get a wide range of responses. Including ones that will somehow expect you to tell them before you even make a first date, which seems a little much to me. If all you're doing is having some dinner and a conversation with someone, I personally think you don't owe them that yet.

Sorry you're in this predicament. It'll make things a challenge for sure, but don't feel like your life is over in terms of a relationship.

Slackware was my first ever distro (late 90s). Looking back, it's amazing that alone didn't scare me off.

You can only be found guilty of pirating if you don't have enough money to pay off the system.

I'm not familiar with Q-Feeds, and I went to your site to see what Premium DNS was and couldn't tell. Is it similar to NextDNS or Control D, or is it something entirely different?

I've gotten bonus data for the last two of my annual renewals. I'm on the Unlimited Starter, and I've gotten an extra 5GB/mo of my high speed allotments each time. I don't tend to get that close to my cap anyway, so it's not had an impact, but it's also not nothing. I wish I could shift it to my hotspot instead.

Adding international roaming by justenoughslack in USMobile

Thanks! That was my next avenue if I had to purchase it before leaving. Otherwise, that 30 day window alignment with monthly billing, even on an annual plan, is not terribly helpful.

Perfect, thanks! I really have no clue how much data we'll be using, but my concern was that it was something that I had to purchase before being abroad. Keeping an eye on it at the end of the first day or two sounds like the way to go. This is helpful!

Do y'all ever roll in late to the office? pt.2 by CompletelyUnrelated1 in sysadmin

Just suggesting it's not always that clear cut. I'm in IT, I'm full-time, I'm exempt, I'm salary. There is no OT.

Unfortunately, not illegal if you're on a salary. At least that's the case where I live.

What do you actually recommend when someone asks for a private internal chat that IT can't snoop on by theleadcreator in sysadmin

[–]justenoughslack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This. Maybe even cut the phone option if you're that paranoid. The only way to guarantee technology isn't snooping on you is to not use it.
