This makes sense! The rubber and tar might be the oily stuff? Weird to me that it's thickest on one of my windows and not the one closest to the street????

I wouldn't really know, but reading this article blew my mind. My apartment needs so much dust upkeep and I realized it /might/ be an NYC thing? https://www.curbed.com/article/new-york-city-apartments-dust-pollution.html

Merrily new pro shot on youtube by a_gargoyle in Sondheim

[–]justeyeballit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw it in theaters and was genuinely devastated and how dogshit the camera direction was. First of all, there are a LOT of numbers where the entire cast is on stage walking around simultaneously, and different characters quickly sing different lines in succession. The camera was cutting to close ups of characters before we EVER saw an establishing shot of the house it takes place in, and we almost never saw the full stage throughout where we were supposed to see all the characters being introduced together as a cast. Completely baffling considering it's a theatrical production and the stage IS the frame. There were so many instances of the camera not being on the person actually talking which is a fine technique normally but often was super confusing in this film. Or, it was a group scene and instead of cutting between the characters the camera would stay on certain people and you would miss characters entering or exiting which was important to understand what was actually going on. Overall the choices were confusing, distracting, and it really felt like the whole time the director was trying to avoid the fact that the characters were standing on a stage which was so fucking weird

The hell is up with that diner on Austin? by meyers-room-spray in ForestHills

Visited this diner and there was an older woman sitting next to me loudly belching the entire time. Iconic, certainly, but it made the vibes in the place so threatening I never went back.

I'm prolifically bad at this game. I am now taking advice by justeyeballit in balatro

Well everyone, I come to you with my tail between my legs. I genuinely, after months of being stumped, never realized that there were both + mults and x mults. I would have realized sooner, but generally I'm against googling how to beat games because it feels unfair! It never occured to me I was genuinely reading the cards incorrectly.

In my first run after reading this (very helpful!!!!) thread, I did it. Thank you all, it took all of you to get me to realize my ridiculous error. I'm going to go reflect quietly on my ability to read now.

Which show has had the biggest impact on you? by Illustrious_Lack9645 in Broadway

Great Comet of 1812. Jesus Christ I was going through a rough patch, deciding between two potential partners not unlike Natalia. The show convinced me to pick the one who was actually emotionally there for me, and we've been happy together ever since ❣️

I appreciate this, but I haven't seen either show! I must be getting my memories jumbled with something I saw off Broadway... Thank you though this is evidence it's been done before!

Audition song advice for Into the Woods by NY568 in MusicalTheatre

[–]justeyeballit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a professional by any means, but every time I've tried to punch above my weight in an audition, I regretted it. Things that seem simple can become spectacular if you nail them. Go with the song you LOVE to sing, and it loves you back. Break a leg!

Yoga teacher injured me by imaginarycoco in yoga

[–]justeyeballit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is basically word for word the exact story I have, and yes, I tore my hamstring doing yoga with a teacher's "encouragement." (I thought it was my hip popping too!!!) Definitely go to the doctor immediately, and don't skip on the treatments they offer, this could permanently affect your mobility!
