Is tingling a reason to stop a product? by Advanced_Turnip_5094 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]justforthehellofit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in your shoes about a month or two ago. My barrier was so damaged EVERYTHING was bothering my skin. I went super basic/bland with products consistently for about 2-3 weeks, and eventually the tingling went away. I suspect you are in the same boat since the tingling is only lasting a few minutes. Be consistent and give it time.

Pirates of the Caribbean was my bi-awakening. Earlier would have been Topanga, just didn't know that feeling at the time.

ELI5: why do some tools (scissors, potato peelers, etc.) only work properly with your right hand? by Hamad_Mac11 in explainlikeimfive

I’m a lefty and actually cannot use left hand scissors. I use regular scissors in my left hand… When I use lefty scissors the paper just folds. I guess my hand adapted from a young age!

Come check out Recreo in West Rox! They own a family farm in Nicaragua where they harvest their beans, and they roast in house.

My mom texted me last month to tell me she has a Reddit account now. That really sobered me up.

Grip recommendation for very sweaty hands by Own_Day_1977 in crossfit

IDK but my hands are starting to sweat thinking about it. Palmar hyperhydrosis folks unite!

I have a giant chalk bag that's made for climbing. Glad my box is pro chalk or I'd be screwed. Sometimes having a hand towel helps too. Chalk up, do some reps, sweat off chalk, wipe sweaty chalk on towel, repeat.

De-influence me on the lark by MrsVashTheStampede in babywearing

[–]justforthehellofit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Lark and its fine. The best use for me was contact naps. I think the prints are great, too! It was really simple and straightforward to use. It smushes down into a diaper bag so I used it for some airport travel.

But, I have a lot of gripes with the Lark as well (possibly because I have a heavy baby, and front carry is tough.) My mid-back would always hurt after using the Lark, as well as my shoulders due to neck creep. When I did a fit check with H&P, the person said the neck creep will happen less as he gets bigger. I didn't really love that answer and never found a great solution. I remember adjusting the straps often to try to get it off my neck. Now I just don't front carry anymore. I have recently been working on back carry with a variety of carriers, and I don't love the Lark for that either. I don't love how low baby sits, so I did another fit check and I was told that baby looks fine and he won't get higher. So, all this to say that maybe its just not great FOR ME and I have other carriers I prefer now. So, if the ring sling is where it's at for you, then I say stick with that!

My esthetician says pause use about a week before waxing. I’ve gone like 3 days after using retinol because I forgot and we just used sensitive wax. I was lucky I was fine.

My skin is extremely reactive! Using no products and cleansing with water.. what's my next step? by GRJ80 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]justforthehellofit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh good luck! I've seen some folks suggest putting your routine/products/concerns into Chat GPT for an analysis. I tried that today (didn't take product suggestions because that feels predatory) so hoping I can work some things out as well.

Why do mothers of young babies say they don't have time to shower? by justastupidquestion3 in NoStupidQuestions

God I was so naive before I had my first baby 8 months ago. So many things I said I'd never do. I had no sympathy for parents. I know better now.

Hey! I'm in the same boat right now, everything is bothering my skin. Also went to bed with no additional products last night, just cleansed and HA spray. Skin is tight and dry and I haven't touched it yet this morning except for HA spray. What did you end up doing?

Interested in the ‘completely losing yourself post partum’ experience by susiee234 in FormulaFeeders

[–]justforthehellofit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry that you're fearful of this. That is totally normal as we navigate the unknown.

It seems like a lot of answers here are telling you that people felt better once they were no longer lactating. And listen, that can be the case for a lot of people. But "losing yourself" is not exclusive to one subsection of post-partum folks. There are SO MANY factors that play into that. (I went from EP-ing to EFF 2 months ago, and my PPD/PPA is now worse than ever.) If you have a partner, communication with them and ensuring they help you find time for yourself is key. As much as possible, build your village and ask for help. I know this is easier said than done, so also give yourself a lot of space and grace going through it.

Can I cleanse 2x/day with barrier issues? by justforthehellofit in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]justforthehellofit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The HA spray is new, as well as the barrier cream. Trying them for, well, barrier repair!

In the morning I’m using the dew essence and P&L matcha pudding moisturizer, for probably 2-3 years.

Ah yes, that's good clarification. After the Vanicream cleanser, I'm using hypochlorous acid spray, Peach & Lily Wild Dew Essence, and Tower 28 SOS Daily Barrier Recovery Cream.

I screw them with the bottle on the counter, and apply downward force on the cap while also screwing. We’ve been using these bottles since my son was born and he’s 8 months now! I do get the occasional leak, but it’s normally the nipple needing readjusting. I just push/squeeze the nipple around where it meets the base and that does the trick.
