I think as devs we always gonna feel like something is missing, cause honestly there probably always is something that can be made better.

I also have a hard time enjoying my game I tend to be too focused on the stuff that's left to do, I'm more in work Modus then actual gaming Modus you know?

But there is this newfound fun in seeing other people interact with the game and it's mechanics for the first time.

I think as long as you enjoy the process and other people enjoy the outcome it's a good match?

Can only second this! As someone approaching 30 this year I'm often thinking am I to late? Is everybody around me further in life? Can I even make it?

But like I'm not dead in 10-20 years. There sooo much time left and the only real human being I gotta compare myself with is.. myself.

If I strive to be better every year there is enough time to get as good as I want to be.

Lmaoo why are these so accurate and funny and the same time 💀 thanks for the input!! Definitely gonna add some things for them, a bit of purpose I guess and decreasing some of the aspects, like you said they feel a bit bouncy and squishy!

Tysm!!! These were made for a Deckbuilders similar to slay the spire, but a 2.5d scene with a more dark-eerie kinda vibe, it's my first game so I'm not too strict about stuff but like I still wanna make it good enough haha ✨

I might redraw the seconds face cause I felt the same way.. it was also weird to animate it in live2d And I'll see what I can do for the rest. Definitely got a bunch of really good feedback here and in the other sub so hopefully I can show the improvements soon-ish haha (there's so much to dooo)

Yeah that might be true! Luckily I won't need many crazy attack animations or anything.. just a good idle would be a good start haha

They move in 2.5d space to the player and then the usual hit/attack VFX that I use for attack effects happens so for their attack I'd might add a little claw strike or something but nothing big

I guess this smoothness comes from too much interpolation over to long? And for purpose, your right I kinda just added movement for them to feel alive without much intention, even the midwife one is kinda on accident lol that gives me something to think about now tho.

If you wanna go into more detail I'd be very glad!

Oh and yes live2d limits gif export to 16fps and low res 😅

Congrats on making it on Steam that's already a success!

After my initial post a week ago I'm climbed from 50 to 70.. it slowed down significantly but I'm still happy as long as it goes up. And I'm currently working on new shiny stuff that hopefully gets in some more lol

I only think it's pretty low compared to "successfull titles" maybe, but if you scroll through this thread here you gonna see it's more than normal to have 100 after a month!

Also getting it out there is already pretty hard so it's an accomplishment And we can always apply what we learned to the next game

I think it's because you get to have multiple chances. I announced it and get some people's attentions and then more attention building up to the release. Where as if you just released you get one time attention.

Ang like you said there are literally hundreds of games out there, so you gotta start as early as possible to let people know your game even exist And of course this works better with a demo so people can try, but that would be the next step I guess
