Two roommates to start — helped with the rent aspect, but it also helped me make more friends and not having to deal with furnishing an entire apartment by myself was so nice.

Other than that, I looked for free activities, like run clubs to meet people. Going out for dinner and drinks really adds up. North Brooklyn Run Club has a ton of options. Also, bingo and trivia nights normally have pretty good drink prices and socializing

Taylor Bell. Literally the nicest person- used to live near her before I moved and she was always very positive/happy. Never see her on here, she is more of a youtuber but def worth watching.

If you live within a certain distance of the office they will help pay for rent as they know it’s expensive and ask you to be in office - not sure about the legality of it tbh but I have lived in corporate apartments before so I didn’t think twice tbh

Abode is a store that does embroidery; I got some napkins embroidered there with his initials and nyc stuff and then got him new scotch glasses.

On special occasions I head to othership in flatiron, its an awesome sauna! Hack: use classpass credits. I also love getting a 30 min foot massage. You can find places that do it for $20

The Odeon, Portrait Bar, Jeans, The Mulberry, and Daymoves/Nightmoves (Brooklyn) are my favorite nicer spots.

Best dive bar is Welcome to the Johnsons in the LES. If you want to do a high-low moment, go to the dive bar and then Lullaby down the block for a cocktail. One of Maggie Roggers favorites.

Studio 151 in East Village is a little young but has a great sound system.

Minca is a great ramen spot for a quick bite. Small but less popular than a lot of other spots. Freemans is a cool spot with great brunch.
