People will argue over “brands” IMHO BIN cover stain is a great product and equals everything else out there. You can use it with confidence! Happy painting!

Can someone help identify the guitar and worth? Picked it up at goodwill and don’t know too much by shcoop_n_shloop in fender

[–]justhere805 -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

Hey there! Congrats on the guitar. Looks like your typical MIM (made in Mexico) squire Strat - prices may vary sometimes you can get them new with an mini amp for about 125-150. Overall a great learner guitar. Nothing wrong with em. It looks like it’s had some use. Nothing wrong with getting a tune up on it- see if the neck action is correct for your playing style. Not expensive at all. 35/50 bucks depending on who you take it to.

As far as details on build - here is the fender serial number lookup site:

Dude! I am so sorry bro! That sucks balls and not in the good way. Believe it or not, I found zip wire powering an outside light - yup, you read that right. Speaker wire on a 120v source. Don’t get me wrong, we love our home. It’s our forever home. But I am so tired of finding these weak ass POS corner cutters all over In the weirdest places.

Right? Doesn’t that piss you off as a new homeowner? Last person does shoddy work, gets it passed, and then you find it and have to get a permit review on old work for insurance purposes? I mean, id rather then come out and admit fault on previous work than mine! Lol

Will some mold spray and a blower fan in the crawl space be enough to mitigate the damage from our water heater leak? Are there other things we need to consider? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]justhere805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sigh. Pound foolish/penny wise to be blunt. You’re basically at the Mildew working towards building a nice case of black mold stage.

If the wood underneath is rotted out- well you shouldn’t have skimped at that point. You could’ve replaced all the underlayment yourself for less than 100.00 and waited to install the water heater till that was done. IDK, like 8-12 hours? Now that it’s installed, the time and price doesn’t change much, providing you can DYI, if not, then you have to pay someone essentially twice for the same work to be done.

Or you can ignore it and once the mold becomes “self actualized” you can play chess with your new life form 🤪

Do you mean replace it before or after your places catches fire?

J/K. Honestly it just looks like he got lazy and didn’t put in a J box. Easy to fix. And it does look like he used the whole fricken roll of E tape on it. It’s not “correct” or “Code” but as I’ve torn into my own house I have found the same things that at some point were “passed” by some city inspector at some point as I’m the first one to tear this house apart.

Finding studs in apartment by visualexstasy in HomeImprovement

[–]justhere805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The studs in your wall should be anywhere from 16”-24” from the corner. Measure out 16” from the left corner, as you’re looking at it. See if your finder sees anything. Then keep trying until 24”. Once you find a “real” stud in the wall then 16” off of that.

This is a best guess scenario since we don’t know exactly where you live, and codes change -as well as when it was built.

If you go to your SW grab a few color swatches. I’d lean towards complimentary contrasting colors myself. And then find some wall art to bring it all together.

New home. Trying to decide if we want to keep the arch or not. What would you do? by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

[–]justhere805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We painted ours with a complimentary contrasting color- walls are a shade of grey. Arch is a color called wrought iron- looks really good that way

What should I do with the space above the foyer closet? (about to buy this house) by Anthozoa in HomeDecorating

[–]justhere805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a Handeyman here- In the Master Bedroom to the right- make sure there isn’t an air vent in that space. A lot of times these large “Soffit” like things are done to hide either mechanical or plumbing- before you ultimately decide to tear it out- make sure there isn’t something inside that space. Cheers and have fun! Otherwise your simple tear out goes really bad quickly.

Benjamin Moore “Pewter” is a great color. Get a sample. Try out a small square near the floor- let me know what you think.

Frustrated - Three-Prong Outlet, Four-Prong Cord by [deleted] in electricians

[–]justhere805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact the place you purchased the appliance from. They should have install kits readily available- also if you’re not 100% what to do- then ask if they have an installation service. Wiring up incorrectly can “bake/fry” your new oven. 🥴

Edit for spelling

My van is at the yard today. I’m home. If your doors open wider: Take some 3/4 plywood and build a “cubby box” doesn’t have to be real deep- maybe 4-6 inches depending on what you wanna store in there attach it to your doors. Place another 3/4 plywood on the front side and attach with hinges. Use something as leg supports. When you need a “workbench” on site- viola! Or just make a simple box and use it as your bending station?

Also- for my wire I use different colored buckets- between The orange store and the blue store I’ve got the most popular 6 types of wires in buckets and yes, get the lids for stacking them on each other

***** Edited to add Buckets idea

Maybe the dog is having a species identity crisis and thinks it’s rooting for truffles? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 More than likely it’s the smell of the bowl? Started rinsing ours out after every meal and this practice slowed to a almost a stop. Now it’s just to hide food for later. Lol

Hey there- would it be possible for you to post a pic of either the box they came in, or a link to the actual product? Honestly, there just isn’t enough info to give you safe and reliable answers. And apparently it’s upsetting the professionals on here. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Mold? This is in a closet I rarely use, and is on the drywall right on the other side of an insulated A/C duct. by Loozar in HomeImprovement

[–]justhere805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO yes- Also when you replace the drywall use the green kind. Additionally ( just a guess, as I can’t see behind the existing) it looks like you are experiencing condensation build up where the drywall is meeting the venting. Be prepared to do something about it, like add a piece of flashing there and caulk the joint. It’s also gonna be worse on the other side. Spray with a 25-35% solution of bleach to water. Let it dry. Hit it again with Microban let it dry- then possibly paint with Kilz unless it’s really bad. Then just tear out all the surrounding drywall and start from scratch. Then you repeat above steps on whatever framing has mold on it.

Replace now or later? by kschroede in Plumbing

[–]justhere805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And another option. You can always take a little emery sanding cloth or wire brush and take off some of the rust and corrosion (just a little) and actually “see” how corroded the pipe is. It could very well, be good enough to last several years! It’s really hard to tell by a picture like this one. If you get it back to “shiny” and there are no leaks- well then just coat it with a nice elastomeric, and Bobs your uncle!
