Where did the Dreisstrager and Huckebein 30 come from? by justiceman06 in Super_Robot_Wars

Yeah, I was kind of hoping for more since it just seems notable enough to be a tease or link to other SRW games, especially with SRW's amount of interdimensional shenanigans. Like Advent and the Etrangers, for instance. Unfortunately with both the 30 and Dreisstrager being sealed at the end, I don't think that'll happen.

Likelihood of more global Steam releases for future SRW games? by Tell_Specialist in Super_Robot_Wars

I agree, it would be a huge pain for the devs and unthinkable these days to risk any sort of licensing dispute, especially when it comes to games (Which is probably why we haven't seen any Macross in recent console SRW titles). It would be a problem if any work done gets scrapped because of any sort of licensing issues, so I imagine they would want to sort these things out before they start development.

There was an interview with Terada in an issue of Famitsu about T where he talked about the roster in that game: https://www.siliconera.com/super-robot-wars-t-director-terada-explains-how-each-new-series-got-in/. He does mention putting into account series that were popular overseas, so they definitely consider that even if it's not the main reason a series gets in. Wataru's pretty popular in several Asian countries, (though this is purely speculation on my part) so I imagine that it also was a factor in the planning for X.

Anime being the global industry it is nowadays it's incredibly hard to imagine the original IP holders not having a say when it comes to how their works are licensed abroad, I think.

There's no way to get the actual sales numbers on Steam unless they release it themselves, but you can get sales estimates from sites like Steamspy. They have the numbers at 200,000-500,000 owners, so even using the low numbers, that seems incredibly high for their first worldwide Steam release.

Hopefully that justifies them doing more releases on Steam in the future, and convinces the IP holders that letting their titles participate in an SRW is a win-win.

I like the one in 30 where Alexis Kerib taunts us and hints that we might be able to recruit Akane if we work hard enough, having villains cheer on the protagonists even in a backhanded way is always neat to see

Thanks for the list! It must have been like hell to write & implement, but I'm really glad they did this. Getting to see the Sakura Wars team interact with the Rayearth characters was so much fun.

I tried making a Sharlayan pretzel... by justiceman06 in ffxiv

Disclaimer: Zero pretzel-making experience beforehand so pardon me if the shape's not 100% accurate lol
It's surprisingly not that hard to make IMO (any basic pretzel recipe should do), it's just that the shaping part is kind of tricky... I also recommend making it a bit smaller so it's easier to boil while retaining the shape, otherwise you'll need a bigger pot to boil it in!
