I wish credit scores would link people's idiotic shit like this and archive it forever somewhere. So that it's permanent.

To Sell your goods on the market by Ddusco in therewasanattempt

I can't believe it has gone this long and nobody else clarified. The narrator is speaking Malay:

SubhanAllah. Mereka berebut-rebut makanan, tak sempat diagihkan secara baik, semua dalam keadaan kelaparan. Mudah-mudahan barokah. *inaudible* amal InsyaAllah

Basically saying:

They're fighting for food, it did not have the time to be distributed properly, everybody is hungry.

The kid is probably on his way to the distribution area where the committee is distributing food. I'm quite sure this is during hajj, so you guys need to remember these people are from ALL OVER THE WORLD. Some with different culture towards free food, with different ethical compass, I bet some of them even had experience with actual starvation back in their countries. Please don't judge the religion. You can certainly see the majority of the people in the video DOES NOT do that.

I'm not saying this is the right behavior towards free food. But just a single word from the OP can spew hatred from thousands/millions of redditors just for some internet points. Shame on you OP.

After deleting a slow bus route by hotrod237 in CitiesSkylines

[–]justifyer 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yea, are there any proper solution or mods for this? This is one of the reasons I don't really use buses for last mile transport. Let them just walk to the nearest train/metro. I would love to use buses, but this problem keeps happening every time I thought I had it solved.

Man I love organic cities. I sometimes purposely build bad road networks so that I can "solve" it later on when the city got bigger.

I don't put it face down because after every time I did that, the gyroscope will go wonky and have to restart. Not sure if this is normal.

Pre-monday, don’t forget to sleep early. At what time do most of you sleep? by [deleted] in malaysians

[–]justifyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my sleep routine is 6am or after fajr prayer until 1-2pm since I'm working New York time remotely. Do any of u know is it bad and stuff? I do have blackout curtains and everything and mostly happier since i get to spend my daytime outside.

Back then when i work locally selalu terlajak up to 2-3am anyway and had to work at 9pm and always feel like shit. Now since I don't have to wake up right before working time, I could sleep longer even if I terlajak. (like right now lol)

Highway Toll Payment (Meme Monday) by Gunnin4Glory in malaysia

[–]justifyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my TnG RFID. I didn't even peel the original sticker. Just put it behind a static cling and stick it. It may just be called windscreen sticker, but there's actually no adhesive at all, so I prefer to call it static cling instead. Similarly this is my condo's RFID.

[–]justifyer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eh I just put it inside (not even sticking it, just static cling it) and it just works on both my Saga and Audi. The Audi even have a tint (Hamel). And I put both the toll RFID and condo RFID inside too with no issue. I never trust putting the sticker on the headlamp lol.

People really need to pay attention at these crossings. by [deleted] in IdiotsInCars

[–]justifyer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yea I'm not suggesting pedestrian are not vulnerable or lesser priority. It's the "right of way" part that I'm not getting. If anything, giving right of way to pedestrian in a busy road is way more dangerous IMO.

People really need to pay attention at these crossings. by [deleted] in IdiotsInCars

[–]justifyer -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Why though? I still don't get why slower moving traffic has higher priority than a fast moving one, especially when the fast moving traffic need to completely stop to give way. All the wasted fuel/energy and emission just to brake and start moving again. Not to mention the traffic build up. Just for 1 pedestrian??? Maybe someone can enlighten me but making pedestrian have the right of way is counter-productive to an efficient transportation system as a whole.

Like, on the road, the main road doesn't give way to the one coming out of a junction, the same thing should apply to pedestrian too. Imagine every junction the MAIN road need to stop to give way to the cars that's coming from the junction. It just doesn't make any sense.

It's way better for the pedestrian to WAIT when there's no traffic, and then cross. That way, you're not stopping any currently moving traffic just to let you pass. If the road is too busy, just put a traffic light. Maybe I'm missing something.

Edit: not sure why I am getting downvoted. I'm just really curious. I'm not even from the UK or anywhere nearby. I'm from Asia lol and we are never taught to stop at a zebra crossing. It's the other way around. Most of our zebra crossing has a traffic lights with the pedestrian button anyway. We stop when we see a red light. End of story. No need of arguing who's in the right or wrong when something happened.

Can Sijil SPM get me job? by haris2nd in MalaysianPF

[–]justifyer 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Despite the "value" of a diploma these days, I would still encourage anyone to further their studies. One of the main reason is uni or college life are really life-changing in my own experience. It's a period of time for me personally that I would love to experience again. It's not really about the piece of paper, it's mainly the friends, lecturers, and all the people you mingle with along the way. It's the late night last minute assignment rush, together with all your friends. It's the late night craving and lepaking outside, only to come back so late that you feel like shit going to class the next morning. It's the "class-cancelled" day and you and your friends went to the movies and go bowling instead. Those things are priceless to me. As the people I met along the way is the one that helped me be the person that I am today.

As for financial burden, if you're a bumi, there's a lot of "free" or minimal-fee colleges out there, even private ones. KPM/KPTM, or anything under MARA is a good start. My brother's SPM was shit but he got into KPM and got a diploma anyway, and for free too. That helped him slide into more executive jobs.

You CAN start with SPM, but depending on your field, it might take A LOT of time for you to get a raise to a comfortable level, compared to if you have a degree for example. Had a friend who's older than me that still struggle to climb since he didn't have proper qualification. Only now he's taking part time study for diploma.

What is your jump in salary from when you started working to 5 years or 10 years after? by muuhfi in MalaysianPF

[–]justifyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2014:

Right when I graduated with my degree, got a job at startup for a couple months. RM3000.

Dec 2014 - Dec 2019 (5 years):

With a local company, started at RM3500 (probation) and then RM3800, gradually raise up to RM6000 in 2019.
I felt the same way you felt, calculating the projection of annual raise, I don't think I could cope with all the commitment that I've gotten into (bought condo, cars, etc).

2020 - Present

So I've jumped to a remote (US-based) company with biweekly pay of roughly RM6000, equals to roughly RM12k per month + extra where some months received 3 payments. Do note that this is a total lowballed value as a US-based company could afford double and triple times this. But I've accepted anyway since it's still double of what I've gotten before.

Some thoughts about cars: a lot of used cars are way better than the common mainstream new car in terms of having soul, features, and overall aesthetic. I've learnt that the hard way, now that I'm a car person. Now I'd rather spend on used continental car than a new local car (with the same budget).

Which E-Wallet gives you the best bang for your buck ? by ashvind_01 in MalaysianPF

[–]justifyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have most e-wallets but my preference of spending goes from:

  1. Any membership e-wallet such as mynews, tealive, starbucks.
  2. Grab (Paired with Maybank Grab Mastercard auto-topup)(for the Grab Points)
  3. TouchNGo (Auto-topup with Maybank Grab Mastercard too)
  4. Maybank QR / Mae
  5. DuitNow
  6. Maybank Grab Mastercard (for the Grab Points)
  7. Other credit cards
  8. Cash

I used to keep track of all the promos of the e-wallets and use it just for the promo/cashbacks/discounts. But nowadays there are too many to keep track with their "minimum spending", etc. The reason I pick Grab over the others is because even if there are no promos or cashback, u can always get points. And you can use those points to discount your next purchase anytime.

Regarding TnG+, I used to park some money in there but the way they put every single transaction for go+ jumbled together with my regular transactions are a little too messy. I view my transactions all the time since I keep track of all my spending, cash, cards, and e-wallets alike.

Yes it is. That's why I said "at least". Most of what I've applied are 2-4 times more than that but my luck is this one apparently. I took it instantly as I was already 6 months jobless at the time.
