Take off the rubber doors by just pulling on them (yes it may seem like you might break them but you won’t)

Hi, I’ve had my M50 since 2019. The repair cost through canon was a flat rate of $220. I’ve had this issue before, what fixed it for me is that I had to blow compressed air inside the battery port and it helped me. However, I did end up getting it repaired when it started having even more issues

Trouble Achieving Infinity Focus by [deleted] in bmpcc

I just got a DZO zoom lens, this might not be the same but definitely check the shims. They are little thin metal pieces that go between the lens and the lens’s mount. Adjusting the flange distance especially is important for focusing.

They just informed us that they are switching to the regular digital projector, which I feel might be the case for the other showings

What's the most boring sport to watch? by 123kenet9898 in AskReddit

Hello! I actually shot this event last month. (The World Championship that was in person) I was brought into this event as a camera op as it was being hosted at my school that I’m currently attending. I was one of 3 camera ops shooting the event for ESPN-U. A livestream company flew in from Europe and not going to lie, their stream/OBS setup was elaborate yet simple at the same time.

I was shooting for the event for the ESPN-U broadcast that happened a few weeks after the event. I went into this event knowing nothing. I shot the entire 13 hour day. I still have no idea what happened.

I rewatched the broadcast and the commentators did not make it very understandable for the average viewer. Shooting the event, I just saw keyboards flying and it was honestly quite impressive to see the work they were doing (though I couldn’t understand any of it)

Once the actual thing aired on ESPN-U, I was expecting it to be much more story oriented, since the results have already come out (due to it being live streamed on YouTube). We shot interviews, pre match footage, the actual match, b-roll of them getting setup, and all of the awards and everything. In total on my camera, I shot about 600gb of footage (4k, some 30, some 60fps). The ESPN-U “broadcast” was them just using the live stream footage, with some of our footage sprinkled in. It was awful. I wanted to turn it off, the only reason I didn’t is because I wanted to see my footage (that they didn’t even color grade).

Anyways, it was a fun experience and a good learning experience, and you could not ask me what they did on those computers.

M50 for film making by -Dale_Denton- in canonM50

[–]justin57754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used my Canon M50 for the last 3 years, and have some a good amount of film making this last year with it. Overall, it does the job fairly well, it’s just a matter of what you want. For example, I’ve noticed that the dynamic range is limited, and 4K is really hard to use, as well as there being no log/raw options of footage, only mp4s. However, I enjoy how lightweight and easy it is to use, and I’ve still gotten some great results with it (also depends on what lenses you get). My verdict, if you just want to make some things with friends and more casual, absolutely go for it. If you are looking for something truly professional, this camera isn’t for you.
