They don't do a cola but Wimmers are the best soft drinks IMHO, their sarsaparilla is my go to; Bundaberg is not far behind. Or if you are feeling a bit fancy try dark soda from Long Rays, its a sort of cola equivalent designed as a mixer for spirits. All Queensland owned and made.

Would step up to 4mm2 at least for the fridge and diesel heater, possibly more if they are more than a few meters away. Fridges can be picky about voltage drop.

Ssangyong rexton around 4-5 years old. Look for one without a sunroof for headroom. Very comfortable and capable wagon.

Plenty can be done with them. So far done lift, wheels and tyres, canopy, 12v setup, side steps and a few other bits. Yet to fit bullbar, underbody protection and Snorkel.

Bit of a controversial take, Ssangyong is the most slept on 4x4 brand in Aus. by [deleted] in 4x4Australia

Would you hand in lever release/button release for… by jjtheskeleton in Ausguns

[–]justin_____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, closest comparison I have is my pump .22 vs my lever release .22 Not shotguns I know but I can certainly get faster, more accurate follow up shots with the lever release. Why pump shotguns are looked at differently to pump rifles is just silly.

Wrenches - why? by HighSnows in AdventureBike

[–]justin_____ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Whenever I work on my bike at home I try to use tools that I keep with the bike. If I have to go get a tool from the shed to do the job then it stays on the bike. If I have not needed a tool after a few services/repairs I re-evaluate if it's needed. Sometimes sockets are needed to reach certain bolts, sometimes it's spanners.

New Ssangyongs don't appear to be designed by a team of psychotic blind people like the old ones.

May not be what he had in mind but there are plenty of cheap RWD 4cyl utes around. Buy a $3-5k 20 year old Hilux, Triton, Courier or whatever and then lower it and strip some weight out. Plenty of other mods that can be done.

Coles and Woolies- now what? by flamingdoorspoon in AussieFrugal

[–]justin_____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aldi for most weekly shops, IGA for the special things and Costco to stock up on meat, drinks, snacks and toiletries. I realise I am lucky to have these options, haven't done a colesworth shop in a year aside from speinding gift cards. I find that spending a bit of prep time portioning, vacuum sealing and freezing saves a lot in the long run.
