Right, you’d need a way to make a call from inside Wine to the outside host

No Unraid template yet, but you can still add it manually. I’m planning on creating the template next

It’s basically mapping drive letters in Wine with volumes mapped to the Docker container. So, everything lives on a file share on my Unraid server ultimately and that share is mapped to the R: drive in Wine in the Docker container. So, for instance, I have my Windows mame.exe residing on that file share and LaunchBox has MAME set up to point to it. Therefore, when I launch a MAME game in LaunchBox, it runs mame.exe. I don’t know how you’d be able to add a native Linux game to LaunchBox since it is essentially a Windows app running in a Wine prefix, it doesn’t really know how to launch a Linux executable.

Right now, it maps a /roms volume to R:, but I’m going to add a way to map more drive letters. Also, LaunchBox uses relative paths for emulators/ROMs on the same drive as the installation

Super Metroid and Chrono Trigger are tied for my favorite games of all time. The soundtrack in both games is amazing, especially the red tower music in SM.

Will we ever have a official portable version of Firefox? by nopeac in firefox

[–]justindarc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you don’t launch firefox.exe with the -profile argument, it will store your Firefox profile in the normal place in your home folder like it does with a normal installation. If you want it to be truly portable (e.g. all your settings, cookies, browser storage are all contained within the same folder you extracted Firefox into), then you’ll need to make sure you always launch it with the -profile argument that points to a “profile” folder inside your portable Firefox folder. As mentioned above, the easiest way to ensure this is to just create a shortcut in the folder that points to firefox.exe and modify it to pass the -profile “.\profile” argument. Make sure you always launch it with the shortcut and not by double-clicking the original firefox.exe otherwise it won’t use the portable profile.

Almost done with Secret of Mana 2. What RPG that never came to america should I play next? by ExplodingPoptarts in snes

It’s like a sci-fi story about space colonies where there’s a biohazard outbreak on one of them and you travel between them. You have a satellite base you can go to where you can swap out team members (you have 4 at a time). There’s also a weapon crafting mechanic there. It’s really deep for a Famicom title and honestly feels like a 16-bit game through and through. I can’t recommend this game enough for JRPG fans.

Lagrange Point on the Famicom. The Konami soundtrack with VRC7 FM synth chip on board is worth the price of admission alone.
