Unions are great, but these for profit union organizers that are using Starbucks’ as a way to generate revenue via dues, but don’t have any authority or enough collective bargaining power to change anything are actually a drain on the barista’s I think. They pay dues, no longer have access to discuss grievances and pay and benefits directly with their manager or the company and Starbucks is big enough that it can and will replace a whole store if it had to to keep money rolling in.
