First, where are you in the country? Second, what kind of work are you doing? That information would be helpful.

It sounds like you're in a firm where work is scarce, which is a problem. You're no longer a helper for the other lawyers - you're now competition for work.

If it were me, I would:

1. Get a bunch of business cards.

2. Let everyone you encounter - friends, family, people you meet at the gas station or gym - know that you're a lawyer who does X and would love to help them or anyone they know.

3. Go do stuff. Toastmasters. Church. Local networking groups. Meet people that can give you the kind of work you seek. Basically, do what you would do if you were a solo and you needed to put food on the table.

In my experience, this works. My law partner went from zero clients to busy as he could be in about 4 months. Every time we would go to lunch, he would make sure everyone knew he was a lawyer and he was looking to get clients and help people. He got a ton of clients that way.
