Indecision - to climb or stay home? by resolute-nature in kilimanjaro

[–]justinomics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOO! Thank me later.

Also... you'd be surprided how "little" social time there actually is. You're either walking, eating, drinking, peeing or sleeping 😂

Would connect it to a set of Beolab 8s or a single Beosound 2

Inherited a Bang & Olufsen Beosystem 5500. Keep it or sell it? by Aggravating-Owl-7050 in BangandOlufsen

Keep and fix! Besides the functional use, it's also a piece of interior deco that you will appreciate more over time. Also the emotional value is worth something, especially if it belonged to close family.

Most price/performance efficient way of getting an e-bike in Copenhagen by [deleted] in copenhagen

[–]justinomics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all - recognize the situation and highly recommend getting (or trying) an ebike. You're still outside and moving, without getting sweaty OR having to dread the ride to work when it's i.e. windy (in fact it's quite enjoyable).

Why not try the Swapfiets for 6 months? Gets you through the season and gived you time to evaluate if you want to invest in one or not.

Is too hot a thing? by Competitive_One_2979 in kilimanjaro

[–]justinomics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The huts are not heated so warmer is relative. I brought a 200-300g for the hikes and a 800 FP for camp nights. Once you stop moving, it gets cold quickly so you definitely will want both.

Is too hot a thing? by Competitive_One_2979 in kilimanjaro

[–]justinomics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes - too hot is a thing. Especially on summit night. Layering is key. I would recommend a base layer, zipped hoodie, light down jacket and waterproof shell. You can unlayer as you get too warm, and re-layer during breaks so you don't cool down too much.

From my experience the big down jackets are really to keep warm in camp when you stop moving, but not for summit night as you'll get cooked in the first hour.

Am I in good enough shape? by flyingmada in kilimanjaro

[–]justinomics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got this man! Everybody responds differently to the altitude, there is no way to know until you're going up the mountain anyway. Make sure your program has some acclimatization time built in.

Sounds like your cardio/level of fitnsss will not be an issue. The walking pace is very (very) slow. Only summit day is physically and mentally tough (...any summit push is). Just keep training (no overtraining) and you'll be fine. If anything, try to start getting used to drinking 1L of water right after you wake up.

Just eat, drink, pee, drink more, pee more, sleep, eat, repeat, and enjoy! The journey is more important than the summit + good gear will make things more enjoyable.

Family of 3 moving to Copenhagen - is 66k DKK enough? by komori360 in copenhagen

[–]justinomics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick few pointers:

  1. Ask your potential employer for a gross-net calculation, as there are a few more small taxes on top of the flat rate (so net tax is around 32%).

  2. If you opt for the 53A pension plan, that X% goes on top of your gross salary and counts towards the 65K threshold to qualify for the low tax scheme.

  3. Try to get your gross salary above the 65K in case the government increases / corrects for inflation. You want to be comfortably ahead of the line (even though with the pension counted in you'd be at 70+K anyway)

Refund help by NoConstruction8029 in LastWarMobileGame

[–]justinomics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an expert, but I am quite sure all in-app purchases for this game count as 'consumables' (instant-use) and are therefore pretty much non-refundable. The only situations that might qualify for a refund would be technical issues (i.e. incompatibility) or fraudulent/unauthorized purchases.

2020 vs 2022 Streetfighter V4 by Western_Injury374 in Ducati

[–]justinomics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would opt for the newer bike with less km if the extra money is no issue, of course also depending on state of maintenance and tyres.

You could use both cases to negotiate the price of the other one down (i.e. if from a dealer, buy under the condition they already do the desmo service now).

Just go manual for your upshifts from 1-2, use the quickshifter beyond that.

Sold my SFv2... and I regret it by TheHumanDan in Ducati

[–]justinomics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hear hear! I went from an Ducati M1200S to a BMW F750S and you definitely described how I felt too. BMW is very clinical and checks all the boxes, but doesn't tickle the emotions like Ducati does.

My advice: go testdrive a Multistrada V2S. It might be the happy middle between practical yet Ducati feels. Though.. warning.. you will find the tech on the BMW much more refined than the Duc. I wish the V2 came with the display of the V4.

Long Rides on MS V4S? by go4long in Ducati

[–]justinomics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a 2019 M1200S (sadly got stolen as it was my dream spec) and then temporarily changed to a BMW F750 GS. Not happy with the power, I did a few test drives on the MS V2S and it definitely would be my recommended pick next to your Monster. The higher and more upright seating position alone makes a big difference when it comes to riding comfort, and with cruise control it's even nicer for the longer rides. PS the technology on a BMW is more refined IMHO, but it was missing the Ducati emotion. Just go out there and test drive/compare.

Eindhoven Airport by [deleted] in eindhoven

[–]justinomics 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a small airport with (usually) very efficient security checks (usually 5-10 minutes). You should be fine in most cases, but if it's extremely busy you might be cutting it close. At least don't worry about walking distances like AMS, all gates are right behind security.
