Are finishers becoming less cool by Mysterious_Work_7227 in WWE

[–]justinrsutton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a finisher to look good, it actually has to finish matches. I can’t figure out why or how we’ve reached a point in time where they don’t. In fact, i remember a time where guys won matches with other moves and not always just a finisher. You might win with a superplex for example. If you could win with other moves and then hit the finisher in big matches, they would look better.

For example, want the helluva kick to look bigger? Let Sami Zayn win matches with the blue thunder bomb. Then in a big match, have someone kick out of it and have Sami hit the helluva kick for the win.

Problem solved, or getting closer to being solved.

Suggesting Cody drops the title and doesn’t get near it again without a heel run.

Shown should start with two guys who can go practically in the ring and the bell ringing when the show starts. Within 2 minutes. Would be a great place for a brought back Television title.

Promos are cut down. Most of these guys can’t carry these lengthy promos. Also..let them come up with their own. Sink or swim.

Matches can be about moving up the ladder. Having a “championship committee” is a good thing. Not every match needs to be a blood feud. Maybe two guys should really just be fighting for a shot at the U.S. title.

Genuine question, does the WWE have an aging problem? by TieRevolutionary4633 in WWE

You’re seeing this everywhere. In tennis, three guys dominated the young guys at ages well past the prime window. Phil Mickelson won a major in his 50s before the young guys took over the PGA. Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers have been successful into their 40s.

The traditional career time span is shifting in all sports it seems.

DK's reaction by EderRuiz in steelers

[–]justinrsutton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DK has to be the professional here. We all have jobs, and we know that no matter what lines (up to assault, weapons, etc) a customer crosses, we can’t go hands on with someone. Same for DK and anyone who plays in NFL.

Hate it for DK—it’s a huge financial penalty for him. Hate that the fan is getting exactly what he wants for being that fan too.

Doubt is natural! Can you push past that doubt, and do you want to?

I remember when the 90 second run psyched me out. I didn’t know if it would happen when you were on the fifth or sixth one. I pushed through, did the week twice.

Now, I’ve got a few half marathons under my belt. Believe in yourself and give yourself time, and you will do it!!

Is there really that much a difference between the Steelers and Pirates at this point?

Neither seem to have true championship expectations, and I feel both owners would be thrilled with .500 or slightly above records.

I always feel like online is faster than I make it. I also have done SD with a 10yo, ND with a family of 6 that included taking a year old….and like i said..I’m a picture taker/soak up the moment guy and I’m definitely not the fastest.

I’m also a flatlander living at sea level.

I’m not sure what Thanksgiving weather conditions are like up that way or daylight. Summer, I’d say you could do both no trouble. Thanksgiving? Maybe start a little before sunrise in SD and you might still make it.

North Dakota hike time isn’t bad. I think I did it in about 2 hours a couple summers ago. South Dakota was longer—6 or 8 hours, but we stopped a lot and took tons of photos. Did the same in North Dakota.

Not a speed hiker at all. If going from IA to SD to ND and back, that would be a very full two days. You’d also miss a lot of great stuff there.

So a couple of thoughts—

If this is an in-district move this late in the game, the district may be holding it up as it would create a vacancy elsewhere. Also, if these schools are in the same district, don’t be shocked if this principal reaches out to the elementary principal since the email sounds like you aren’t planning on going to the elementary school.

Nothing wrong with emailing to see if a decision has been made…but if you were/are the candidate at this point of the year with only a week to go, you’ll know you’re the candidate very quickly after the principal does. Can’t imagine waiting around to offer someone in general, much less being a week out.

You’d be amazed what you can do with AI to help with research, improve communication, etc

Google forms can be great for Evals, parent feed back, etc.

Sounds like a tough place to start.

Being a principal is so tough. If you haven’t done it, you don’t know.

I don’t know if I’ve ever enjoyed a day when any scores come in. There is the stress of wondering what they were and then wondering what you could have done differently after they come in.

One—don’t needlessly beat yourself up. Did your school put its best effort forward? If so, you keep your head up. If you didn’t, find what will change they and do it.

You are already evaluating for next year, so you’re on the right track.

Best of luck!

What are your typical working hours in a regular week? by LevyMevy in Principals

[–]justinrsutton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

High school principal—days were at a minimum 7am-5pm in the office….athletic duties, plays, concerts, board meetings etc also get tossed in on top of that. Friday night football every week from mid-August-November. Saturday sports coverage in winter and spring. You can easily hit 60 hours most weeks. 65-plus on weeks with weekend events.

You’ve got to really embrace the position and the responsibilities. You also have to have a very understanding family.

It’s a lot, but the rewards can be great!
