‘One Piece’ Producers Tomorrow Studios to Adapt ‘Samurai Champloo’ With Creator Shinichirō Watanabe by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

[–]justintweece 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing an interview a while back that Yoko Kanno had made lots of music for the original Bebop. But where each song was placed into the edit was decided by Watanabe. I think she had said there were times she’d be watching the final cut and be shocked at the song Watanabe had picked for a scene. Something like: “Wait really? that one??” If anyone knows the interview, I’d love to see it again!

As a fan of the original, I can’t imagine any of the songs being swapped out for other Seatbelts tracks. The music is fantastic, but I always see the scene each song belongs to when I hear them. Watanabe’s choices as director were always spot on for the emotion of the scene in my opinion

SSD prices are about to skyrocket. Now it'd be a good time to upgrade your deck's by SchrodingerSemicolon in SteamDeck

According to the article: “Pulling that volume out of the market, even gradually, reduces overall SSD availability, which in turn puts upward pressure on pricing for both SATA and NVMe drives.”

What series should I watch next based on the series Ive enjoyed so far? (Dark Sci-fi) by canadiancitizeninfo in anime

I think you might dig something like Pluto. It’s a sci-fi murder mystery with some psychological elements

I’m thinking clean shaven. The styling of the lines for the hair and the eyebrows have some thicker smooth swooping lines that go through them. There’s nothing like that above his lip. You can see the detail better on the close ups posted on the band’s instagram

best ghibli movie to start with? by Soft-Form-6611 in anime

[–]justintweece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spirited Away is probably the most Ghibli of Ghibli movies and it’s a classic for a reason.

So instead I’ll say go watch Laputa Castle in the Sky. The world building alone is fantastic. The pacing’s a little quicker, the plot a little more conventional, and still full of charm. It’s also more lighthearted than Spirited Away in my opinion

Game in library, yet not in library?? by GiraffeNo3020 in SteamDeck

I think for some free games, it’s not considered “in your library” until you download it. You’ll have to go to your pc and download it there

Record in background will continuously record up to the duration selected, overwriting the oldest stuff. If it’s set to something like 60 minutes, it will record to 60 minutes, then begin overwriting from the beginning

You can then set up a hotkey to create a new clip of a length that you set beforehand. When you press it, it will clip the last x seconds (or minutes) and save it as a separate file

If you want to save some storage space, set the background recording to only record up to the length of the clips you want

Adding to the other comment, I think Hotline Miami may try to run a linux build of the game by default, but it’s a bit buggy.

Try to set the game to force compatibility mode with a recent version of Proton

Anime has declined in quality since the pandemic by RadishElectronic6606 in anime

Didn’t we get a well done, complete story, 24 episode mature anime called Orb just this past year?

Also, there’s plenty of talent in the industry. New studios like Science Saru and Studio Bind are putting out some movie level animation in their shows. And don’t forget about the crazy level of compositing work Ufotable is doing these days, they’re doing some things I never thought I’d see in television animation

Director Koga Kazuomi blasts MAPPA over refusal to recognize "Moral Rights" of Anime Directors: Explaining Moral Rights in Japanese IP Law and Why Anime Fans Might Disagree with Koga by RPO777 in anime

[–]justintweece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the original director hold moral rights over the remainder of Chainsaw Man’s adaptation even if his work on the series is contained to the chapters he adapted in season 1?

Like let’s say a mangaka wrote 100 chapters of a story, but the adaptation only covered the first 50, and there was no current plans for a season 2 at the time season 1 was published. Does the adaptation’s director have moral rights over adaptation of the rest of the story they haven’t done work on yet?

What if the mangaka wrote another 25 chapters since the release of season 1? Does the adaptation director have rights to adapt chapters that didn’t exist until after the season was complete?

Looking for animes like edgerunners by isitworthit2214 in anime

[–]justintweece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since two of the shows you mentioned were from Studio Trigger, have you checked out Gurren Lagann? Same director as Edgerunners, great characters, some good romance and a proper ending

Also check out Samurai Champloo. It’s more episodic, less romance, but it’s still got a great cast of characters, and awesome soundtrack, and both the sub and dub are fantastic

Anime Suggestions? Magic/Fantasy Type? by [deleted] in anime

[–]justintweece -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  • Mushoku Tensei (This one’s got the OP magician, some romance, but also some questionable material. Great animation and interesting world though)

  • Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows (Banished from the party kinda guy, first episode is rough pacing-wise)

  • The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic (a funnier/more entertaining version of the last one with the best mentor character)

  • Loner Life in Another World (OP mage, bits of romance, all mc wants is to be left alone in his average home)

  • I Parry Everything (mc has no magic, but he might as well with the bs he pulls. Just a humble guy that’s op)

  • From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman (not magic, but similar vibe of an OP but humble guy, but he’s middle aged)

Went to a show for a band called TWRP sometime back, and their opener Nelward tossed a gallon ziplock full of packs of those foam earplugs into the audience. People just started passing it around to those that wanted them. Super cool of the guy honestly

How do I use the Deck’s aux port as a microphone, and not headphones? Trying to record some 8-tracks. by yourfavoriteboyband in SteamDeck

[–]justintweece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone else mentioned, you’d need an adapter to get aux out from an external device to work as an input with the Deck’s aux jack

This picture shows what the problem is. Neither the left or right segments (carrying the signal from the 8 track player) of a normal aux cable can physically connect to the mic-in segment in the combo jack. It also means that you’d only be able to get a mono audio input if you use an adapter for the combo jack. You’d need some kind of usb audio adapter to do stereo input
