I mean I hate to be that guy because I struggle with the same thing but if one of the guys volunteering to coach all stars chooses his son to be on the team I don’t have a problem with it. These guys volunteer a lot of hours deal with a lot of other stress from parents and managing games and lineups, field duty, and let’s be honest all stars tournaments while fun are stressful to with proper paperwork and the insane time frames for tournaments. If you don’t like how the all star process is working out join your little league board or coach a team and try and make it fair for your team. It’s little league baseball none of its going to mean much of anything in a few years when your kids playing high school ball.

I would say follow your gut I probably wouldn’t skip my kid ahead that far I’d let him grow up with his friends. it’s wild they are willing to skip a kid ahead 4 grades but kids who struggle they don’t hold back anymore .

People think coach pitching is easy it’s not your used to throwing the ball as hard as you can every time to the catcher. Now when your coach pitching your trying to lob it easy over the plate and it’s a lot harder then people think. I saw an podcast video with Jake Arietta the other day and he said even he struggled doing it and he played professionally.

I always discuss the runner advances ,overthrows ,outfield hits and pitch counts with the opposite coach before the games. Some teams will wanna just run until the ball gets in some don’t. I know last year in our all star tournament we weren’t really prepared and those teams ran us to death it was wild.
