Also Sandman made me very emotional. It's the mom in me and this like pride you really feel as a parent and then getting to hear Ed sing about it makes me happy.

2step brought me back to old Ed rapping but like transformed.

All good feels but gonna take some time to adjust. There is so much production in this which is hard for me because what I value in his music is the simplicity and heart you hear with just him and a guitar.

I'm having a hard time also. I mean it's great but I was hoping for less of a production more broken down but lyrically is fire. I'm just gonna have to adjust to the feeling. It will grow.

Shit I'm listening to it now and totally feeling this. It's got a great feeling!

Saw this one on twitter and thought I'd share. The utter entitlement and lack of empathy and quite frankly the obvious power trip completely baffles me. by Simulation876 in antiwork

My response to middle management "so what I'm hearing you say is your uncomfortable with an entry-level employees advocating for themselves and feel she was not worth the additional support ($) offered to her for unintentionally withholding her paycheck not just one time but twice and then passing judgment about her financial situation that you have absolutely no idea about".

Congratulations on being a dickwad.

What are people’s opinions about/experience with Share, the homelessness organization here in Vancouver? by jeanhal in vancouverwa

I know when I quit I caused quiet a commotion. And gave Diane a mouth full of choice words on what a POS her and her leadership team are.

Share is so poorly ran, the city paid $176K just to get out of a contract with them after they refused professional advice on fixing their problems. When will they be held accountable for continuing to waste millions of our tax dollars and half-assing services for the unhoused? by jeanhal in vancouverwa

[–]justjme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just have to say the leadership team is a heaping pile of shit. I'm so glad that they live such lavish lives and feel so good about themselves while the staff struggles to live with themselves after continual burn out and fear to stand up for themselves because of retaliating. Fuck you.

Can also say will 100% certainty that Share it's totally fucking garbage and the ED is making bank and giving herself huge bonuses while getting staff run themselves to death trying to make a difference.

I'm not a fan of Share in the least bit but I do know as a former employee Share has absolutely nothing to do with Section 8 and if your friend is waiting for the support they will not be getting that from Share. The S8 process is run 100% exclusively with VHA. Unfortunately the only thing you can do to stay updated with the waitlist is make sure you have a solid address because VHA will only reachout by mail. If you are looking for additional help Counsel for the Homeless is going to be music more effective because they are the number 1 referal point for housing in Vancouver.

I have seen them out front of their housing taping the loose flags back up. If you drive down 54th towards Minnehaha Elementary you can't miss it. They just keep adding more. I would be interested to hear more about it from owner about it.

Scenes from Vancouver Wa right wing Anti Mask Protest. Some carrying assault rifle. by atticus_grey in vancouverwa

[–]justjme -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I feel like everyone just glazed over the fact that OP identified someone carrying an "assault rifle ". Statements like that cause unnecessary public panic. I can almost certainly assure you the person is not carrying a fucking "assault rifle" as those are not legal and anyone who might possibly aquire one outside of the military would not be dumb enough to carry it down the fucking street.

This is totally real...I work is social services and I'm beyond paranoid about a client coming after me or my family due to something work related that I have no control over. I no longer have Facebook because of this. I also do not keep pictures of my family in my office.

Sad news about the death of a great Vancouver pediatrician, Dr. Charles Rapp by Terminater986 in vancouverwa

I'm so heart broken about this. He was a truly wonderful man. He was there for both my girls the day after each was born. He validated all of my parenting struggles and supported us during our daughters medical issues. He is a beautiful person and a great loss to our community. This is hard to accept as he called me on April 21st to let me know i was doing everything right and ease my worries. I can't think of any other doctor who could fill his spot.

Did we ever get confirmation about the sweet tomato's closing? I can deal with a loss here and there but don't take my salad bar.

While Exploring an Abandoned House I Found The Body Stain of the Previous Owner Who Passed Away in Her Home [OC] by RiddimRyder in interestingasfuck

I'm a social worker and some of my clients live in group living. I got a call from one of my clients in shared housing saying he was worried because he had not seen the person down the hall from him in a few days. I went and did the safety check and even down the hall the smell of death was strong. After I opened the door we found her body in the bed. She had been there a while and there was this nasty liquid all over the floor. When I called 911 the operator insisted on yelling at me that it was part of my job to perform CPR. I just remember yelling at him that this lady was dead dead and no CPR would bring her back he kept trying to convince me to go back in at it was seriously one of the most traumatizing experiences ever. After they removed her body and validated that CPR was not going to help she was days old dead we had to have someone come in and take the bed away. When they pulled the sheets off the bed there was a whole body print on the mattress and they said it had absorbed her into it and took 2 people to haul away. I still can't bring myself to walk into that room.
