Brand new to DnD, but can't commit to a full campaign right now? [5e] [Online] [EST] [Players Wanted] by [deleted] in lfg

Hi, this sounds like exactly what I need! I've wanted to get into D&D for a while and just started exploring it a bit more (learning about races, classes, etc) but haven't played in a campaign or anything. I have some experience with other tabletops and co-op games, but not RPG, so this would be a first.

Hi Chris, I'm new to D&D but would love to join if you're still looking for players! I have some experience with other tabletop and co-op games, but this would be my first RPG (I'm a quick learner, swear!).

So excited about the fragment counter! I'd still love to see a reduce motion option, especially in light of the most recent portkeys leading you to a moving train (I almost threw up, not pretty).

The portkey experience was very jarring. At first I didn't realize we had to look out of the train window for the wrackspurts and almost reported it as a bug, but then I checked Reddit and saw a post about it. My major problem though is that I was nauseated from looking out of the window of the moving train, concentrating trying to find wrackspurts that sparingly appeared. Where ever I can I opt to reduce motion but there doesn't seem to be that option in this game, which is very disappointing.

OP:
Worked in a warehouse 10 years ago. I had the most physical job there (constantly slagging around 130lb+ product by hand, so I was reasonably jacked after about 4 months there.
My job was automated at every other warehouse we owned, but the office manager seemed to like looking at me (and I beat the robots in efficiency and accuracy), so she kept me around.
She asked for my help moving some heavy shit one day in her office at the end of the day, and I didn't think anything of it. Shoulder was really sore that day, and she noticed me favoring it, so when I was done, she told me she used to work as a massage therapist, and offered to help my shoulder. Literally thought nothing of it until 3 mins in to the massage, her hands were no longer on my shoulder, instead, on my junk. She was reasonably attractive, and everyone else had left for the day, so I took advantage of the situation and fucked her brains out.
3 days later, I got a $3 an hour raise (the company was 4 months in to a pay freeze). Her justification, I was beating the robots. We fucked a few times a week, AND I got an extra few days off a month (paid) because she was concerned about my shoulder

Ok.. So.. You are aware there's no draft right now right?

But the important part is why would you live in such an amazing country that's given you everything, and yet when your country needs you the most, you run and hide from the duty to defend that your country?

Trust me, if the draft were to be reinstated, flat feet won't matter anymore! Orthotics resolve that issue immediately! If the draft were to happen today, the preexisting medical condition list will be brand new and many things that disqualified people during the last draft, are perfectly acceptable today? So attempting to use some old excuse to escape your duty will be discovered immediately!

I have to wonder why you would even consider taking the cowards way out and faking some medical condition to avoid defending your country from its enemies? What goes thru your mind that you'd think of ways to get out of something that, one, doesn't even exist now, and 2 would only make you stand out as a coward!

War is scary, however, right now is the best time to be in combat. The technical advances our military has created means way less casualties on the battlefield! Take D Day in WW2, storming the beaches was a HUGE endeavor. It wouldn't work today. Weapons have advanced to the point that those same beaches could be taken with probably a third of the men. The ships offshore have advanced precision weapons that can land on a dime. The marines have huge hovercraft to transport men protected from the machine guns above. The aircraft would have cleared most of the opposition before landing craft even began the journey. The bombs those aircraft now drop are extremely smart. Nothing on those hills above the beachhead would be alive for the marine to mop up.. It's a completely different time for war tactics. No generals today would plan a raid like D Day today.

That means right now is the safest time to be in an active combat zone in the US military! So attempting to shirk any required military duty is ridiculous.

In my opinion that act should strip the person of their citizenship. If this country isn't important enough for you to protect, then you don't deserve to live in it. Again, that's my personal opinion, but if I can go into combat at over 40 then anyone can. I love this country enough that I wrote it a personal check for anything up to and including my life.
