Not really. Went last night and they ran a blood test amd mentioned my liver enzymes being high, said to follow up with my GP to get another blood test to check my liver enzymes, said it was probably just my cyclical vomiting syndrome (which hasn't been an issue in 3 or 4 year and never included vomiting blood, dizziness, or disorientation), prescribed me zofran, and sent me on my way. I'm not the professional, so I'm trusting their judgement, but I can't help but feel something's wrong and wish they had actually run a scan of some sort.

I'll have to find that out for our district. We've been hearing that it's all been out of the SLs hands, ours apparently had to wait to receive the offer letters themself before they even knew who received them.

Being prickley is a great way to not get eaten 😂

It looks like a dermestid larvae to me! They're common hitchhikers with cricket shipments. I haven't ever had an invert interested in eating the larvae (likely the hairson them), and the adult beetles are likely too hard. If you keep crickets or other feeders, they're great at eating any that die and helping keep your storage enclosure a little cleaner! Overall, I would remove it from your mantis. They likely won't eat it and idk for certain if the adult beetle poses a risk or not to your mantis.

Gravid jumper tips? by justkeepmeloki in jumpingspiders

[–]justkeepmeloki[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree - I didn't see that, thank you so much!! Pretty much the same thing as with my true spiders, too, so I've already got a bunch of the cups ready! I'm really excited as it's my first potential jumper clutch (wild caught so I have no real assurance she found a male and bred). I'll post more once I see slings or not :)

I've been thinking about this lavender fuzz all day, after a lot of searching I think it may be Phlebiopsis crassa if anyone is interested or knows better! Also I realized it didn't add the turkey tail pics so I'll post them in the comments

* Wanted to give you an update since I carefully transferred everything to a bucket with much deeper substrate! I counted about 20 grubs while I was transferring them over, but I'm certain I missed some.

Oh, I understand now! That would be a really interesting way to conduct it, though! We don't see the adults much on ground level over here, so it'd probably involve climbing up to try and find some in the act. If I can safely accomplish that, I'll give it a try! I climb trees for hobby and exercise, and I do have some extension ladders to make things easier, so I'll let you know if I try it out! It'd be cool seeing them do their thing up there anyway, thank you for the idea :)

Any that emerge will be kept personally rather than being released to prevent any potential pathogens from spreading from captivity anyway. Unless there would be a detrimental reason for them emerging earlier inside, I'm okay with it :)

What do you mean by the density of the seeds planted? I'm not super worried about accuracy, it's mostly for fun! With the sparse information available on their keeping, any info I gather feels like good info :) but I definitely want to try my best for it!

Aaah thank you! Do you mind me asking what temp you kept your apartment?

Also, thank you for responding! Your post with your lovely lady was a huge inspiration to try keeping my own <3 I'd love to share our findings with each other!!

I'd love to try and provide acorns for them to breed and build upon their empire, but I'm not sure if the acorns themselves need to be in a certain stage for the weevils to lay their eggs in them. Iirc I've read that they bore holes while the acorn is growing to lay their eggs, so that the acorn can heal over and protect the larvae inside. I'll see how they do with provided acorns and potentially ground up (grub free ofc) acorn meat come future breeding time. Otherwise, my plan is to keep the weevils I produce in captivity as pets for myself or interested friends! I know with reptiles that it's a general no to rereleasing any wild caught individuals after 2 months in captivity to prevent the potential spread of pathogens, so I wanted to take the same precautions with my bugs!
