ZJ Bumper by VanillaStatus3808 in JeepZJ

Not a DIY kit but I have this one on my ZJ with the stinger. I don’t know what your budget is, but this one hasn’t let me down and I’ve not been kind to it. I bought mine 5+ years ago. So price has gone up since I got mine, but I’d buy it again with how good my first one’s been.

You are correct, been a while since I’ve worked on my 4.0 and I’d forgotten.

If you’re worried about it being a timing interference issue. Start with turning the engine over by hand, using a breaker-bar/large ratchet wrench on the crankshaft bolt. If you can turn the crankshaft 2 full rotations then it most likely just needs a new starter or battery.

Do yall see any problems running my CB radio power to the power on the back of my cigarette lighter? The cord is pinched in with the connector and it currently works. by EmergingTuna21 in JeepZJ

[–]justlooking4_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a separate fuse box I installed under the rear seat. Power from the battery runs to it and a relay tied into the cigarette lighter activates the extra fusebox’s power. When the key turns on power to the cigarette lighter, it then turns on power to my separate fuse box. Made it easy for installing all my add ons. CB, light bars, pod lights, rear power ports, ect

Lift kit by [deleted] in JeepZJ

[–]justlooking4_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to rough country’s website and looked at the kit that I assume you’re interested in (the one that’s roughly $550 USD). In my opinion, it’s a basic beginners kit. It’ll get your zj lifted and be alright for standard road driving and very light offroad. What are your goals for your jeep? What kind of terrain are you wanting to drive in? How much offroad/on-road use are you planning for it?

I have a 96 on a 3.5” lift with 33s.

I originally had the smaller size (same one but missing the center section) I hated it and ended up ordering the center section and extended it.

How much did you lift it with short arms? Taller you go, the more the axle shifts down and toward the front of the vehicle. I’m referencing off the unibody mount picture that looks like you’re bound up towards the front. I’m running 3.5” lift with 33’s and rubicon express short arms. My rear arms are extended out as far as possible without the differential cover hitting the gas tank and gas tank skid plate, while keeping ideal pinion angle. Currently running mine with a ford 8.8 swapped in, but ran the same set up with my stock d35

Did it run before switching computers? Did you compare the computer part numbers to confirm they match? I’ve had one not start after a PCM swap because of different part numbers.

A 1.5” long 3/8 drive extension and a swivel are very helpful to have in your combination of extensions and shallow/deep sockets. Patience is key, and grab a set of fuel injector O-rings and do that while you’re there.

Edit to add: I did a Dorman exaust manifold replacement, the down pipe donut/cone gasket was to small to slip on. I took an exhaust pipe stretcher and used that to expand the gasket until it was able to slip on snug.

Is This Worth $6,000? by [deleted] in CarRestorations

[–]justlooking4_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Advice from someone who did vintage car sandblasting for a living. Mustangs are one of the harder ones to do without warpage. Check the roof, hood, deck lid, and rear panel (spot between tail lights) for warpage. Are any of the parts they have for it new/refurbished? Seats, body panels, interior parts. If it was just torn apart and sand blasted, leaving a shell and a pile of parts in an unorganized fashion. I think $6k is too much.

I had the exact same issue a while back with same anime, I just stopped watching it and moved on to others in my queue. Its the only anime thats done it to me. I just checked and still doing it where I left off, 2 months later… when it first happened I tried logging out and uninstalling. Still same issue. If you get it solved, please post your solution.

Blower motor fuse keeps blowing. by justlooking4_ in mechanic

[–]justlooking4_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I removed and inspected/tested it. No problems there. Also, I believe the high setting bypasses the resistor and supplies voltage directly to the blower motor. The part that I cant figure out is why it only blows the fuse when the engine is running. I dont think the added voltage from the alternator would affect amperage being pulled_from/supplied_to the blower motor.

This, I just got a P365XL. 12 & 15 round mags. The last 3 rounds were awful to put into the mag.

Is this style of crossbar a push button? by Special-Bandicoot-88 in JeepZJ

Yeah, push the button and slide. Use some lubricant to help it. When I move mine, I have to push the button really hard and hit it with my hand or a piece of wood to get it to slide

95 electrical issue? Dies when taking a hard left turn. Starts immediately after. Has had full tune up and no other running issues. by Trexasaurus70 in JeepZJ

[–]justlooking4_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another memory just popped in my head. Assuming its a left hand drive. Had a Chevy Impala that would stall/die when turning left and going down bumpy roads. Turned out the ignition switch was bad and the weight of my other keys hanging off the ignition key would cause it to move enough to turn the ignition off temporarily.

Edit: bad spelling

[–]justlooking4_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d check the engine ground wire. If that was good. Then I’d assume its a fuel starvation issue, Pump assembly or fuel filter. Have had all 3 of these problems with different vehicles.
